The certified diploma in Leadership and Management helps you to understand your role as a manager and as a leader, it is the first step towards effective team and people management within a business environment. Attending this course will help develop your thinking about leadership and management as a part that you play in creating the right environment for effective staff and business performance. This international certification will further develop your skills and allow you to acquire broader business knowledge.

Description and Objectives

Motivated employees work better, live more satisfied lives, and are generally responsible for driving the success of a business.  This course will develop participants’ understanding of motivating factors and how to use them to increase workplace motivation for individuals and groups.

After attending the course, participants will be better able to:

  • Define work motives from a management perspective
  • Name the factors that can influence the behavior of the people they work with
  • Describe job enrichment principles
  • Describe the manager’s role in motivating employees
  • Apply job enrichment techniques to motivate employees

Becoming a More Effective Manager                                     

Description and Objectives

In this course, participants will learn practical methods to help them become more effective and confident as managers.  They will develop and refine the skills needed to manage people more effectively, including how to improve workplace atmosphere and performance, and they will create a plan for their own personal development.

After the course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the need to be effective at work
  • Explain the positive attitude and behavior that should be followed in the workplace
  • Assess their own effectiveness
  • Identify the skills needed to improve their own effectiveness
  • Choose appropriate forms of development
  • Set a plan for personal development

Planning and Controlling Work     

Description and Objectives

The purpose of the course is to help participants to apply the planning and controlling work process into their work in order to achieve positive results.  It also provides necessary tools for this process.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to use basic planning and controlling work tools.  In particular, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the planning and controlling work process
  • Organize individual work effectively when dealing with multiple tasks
  • Plan for a team project
  • Apply controlling and monitoring techniques
  • Plan and control work when resources are shared with others

Course Duration:  2 days (8 hours)


Solving Problems                                                                           

Description and Objectives

This course is designed for managers and team leaders who have to deal with challenges and solve problems in their daily work.  This includes learning how to find solutions while forecasting and planning and daily operations that involve teamwork and other working processes.

After the course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify problems that need to be solved
  • Be confident in applying methods and tools to solve the problems

Using Information for Decision Making                                

Description and Objectives

Making business decisions is one of the most important functions of a leader.  In this course, participants will learn how to apply systematic decision-making processes in order to reduce risk and choose the best course of action for the project, for the team, and for the company.

Upon completing the course, participants will be better able to:

  • Determine when to use a structured decision-making process
  • Identify information relevant to specific decisions
  • Identify sources of relevant information and methods to collect it
  • Apply a structured decision-making process and some common tools for decision-making and information-collecting

Communicating Effectively                                                        

Description and Objectives

Effective communication is the key to success in business, enabling staff to deliver results through strengthened teamwork and collaboration.  The purpose of this course is to identify the key elements of communication and understand how the successful implementation of each can help participants perform at their best as managers and team leaders.
