MSELECT Academy's Report writing is a two-day training designed for anyone who uses, writes, or edits reports in their work environment, or anyone who is planning to move into a position to do so. The training provides an overview of report writing best practices, including the following: Clarifying the purpose of internal and external reports, analyzing how a report audience impacts content, designing a report structure to ensure that necessary information is included and organized in an effective way, selecting and gathering data to include in a report, developing a report writing style that is clear and concise, understanding how and when to include graphics, editing reports for clarity, and utilizing tools for report writing.
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Identify a clear purpose for report writing
- Identify and explain what makes effective writing
- Understand structure and components of a good report and good success story
- Tailor a report to a target audience
About the Trainer
Megan Kelly has three years of INGO and training experience in Iraq and Kurdistan, as well as several years of experience in the Middle East. She has experience working in youth empowerment, civic engagement, and community peacebuilding programming, and has facilitated trainings and workshops for community stakeholders of all levels in Iraq, Palestine, and the United States with a focus on integrating youth voices into civil society and community and regional decision making processes.
