Using Body Language for Effective Communication

MSELECT Academy is offering a Body Language for Effective Communication Course to prepare participants to master the fundamentals of Body Language, harness the power of Effective Communication, and improve their nonverbal communication skills. Body language is a powerful tool that can help you to connect with others, express what you really mean, and build better professional relationships. This is a 4-day course held in Erbil at the MSELECT Academy.

The two-day course emphasis on the positive and productive aspects of communication and nonverbal communication skills. The course examines the importance of body language in the workplace and gives you several practical examples to boost your non-verbal communication skills and enhance your professional image.



This course will enable participants to:

  • To make participants understand the role of communication in personal and professional life.


  • To be able to gain the use of communication strategies they must obtain the skills of reading others´ body language.


  • To learn to listen actively to the communication process.


  • To be present in the here and now with both body and mind in a communication situation.


  • To master the making of a great first impression through the use of body and voice.


  • Reading body language will be through learning to understand the meaning of approximate, individual orientation, facial expressions, physical contacts(touch), eye contact, gestures, posture, voice, and individual adaptors.


  • Deal with different types of communication, such as active communication, passive communication, assertive communication, and aggressive communication.


Who can take this course?

The training language is English; therefore any person who speaks at least advanced English may take the course. No prior experience is required, just a willingness to learn and a desire to develop yourself.


The Trainer

Dr.Jaf has a Master’s Degree in Theatre Directing and a Ph.D. in Body Physics. Dr. Jaf has been training body language principles for over than twenty years.

Dr. Jaf has been working in international milieus with body language, effective communication, public speaking and the art of presentation in Sweden, England, Finland, and many Arab countries. He has been successively running workshops on a variety of levels, both for companies, organizations, and universities. His workshops have been attended by teachers, politicians, and executives in the business.

His method of teaching has spread to numerous universities; he was a professor for Salahaddin, Ishik, Cihan and the Lebanon-French University. He trained body language in class management for teachers at the English Department of Ishik University for two years. He also trained body language in effective communication at the Department of Business and Management at the same university for two years.

He has worked for the Kurdistan Parliament and held workshops for members. He additionally worked as an advisor for the Ministry of Culture in Kurdistan. He also held the position of a Dean for the College of Arts in Erbil.
