Job Description

Our client, an international oilfield services provider, is looking for expert Mechanical Engineer with minimum of 10 years’ oil field or associated petrochemical industries experience to be responsible Person for all Mechanical Maintenance aspects of Static and Rotating Equipment. The successful candidates will be chosen to work on a rotation pattern of 4 weeks on 4 weeks off in their operation site in Badra, Iraq.

Abilities, Duties and Responsibilities              

  • Responsible Person for all Mechanical Maintenance aspects of Static and Rotating Equipment
  • Ensure weekly mechanical maintenance schedules are executed to plan
  • Author the maintenance section in the weekly and monthly project reports
  • Work with the CMMS Engineer to ensure that maintenance routines are accurate and justified and team file completion reports as appropriate
  • Appraise and update preventative maintenance routines in CMMS as applicable
  • Take part in audits, inspections and safety observation tours
  • Give clear direction to overcome or design out mechanical issues
  • Review critical mechanical spares holdings
  • Ensure that all mechanical technical documentation required for maintenance is available or is resourced through OEM’s or vendors
  • Review MOC’s for technical accuracy and delivery and execute as directed
  • Provide direction to team on priority of work
  • Provide answer to technical queries related to a mechanical discipline
  • Guide and coach Sub-contract personnel on maintenance and best practices
  • Assess, mentor on competency / implement training needs of mechanical discipline personnel.
  • Monitor mechanical equipment performance and drive continuous improvement in plant and personnel
  • Be conversant with project KPI’s and support their delivery and attainment at all times
  • Ensure good knowledge of the project contract
  • Partake in, or cooperate with; internal or external audits respectively
  • Attend the weekly management meeting
  • Compile or receive detailed written
  • Handover prior to; and completion of leave and/or field breaks
  • Carry out HSE and technical audits and inspections as directed by Project Manager
  • Have a full awareness of the Company Code of Conduct and Business Ethics.
  • Compile / distribute comprehensive reports as necessary
  • Issue and review Permits to Work, Toolbox
  • Talks & Checklists
  • Report HSE incidents and all near misses
  • Working knowledge of engineering design, standards, codes metallurgy and piping
  • Provide clarity on mechanical issues for root cause analysis studies

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes     

  • English: verbal, reading and writing in line with the job expectation
  • 8+ years’ experience in Petrochemical
  • Industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in
  • Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Can create systems to track and improve maintenance operations
