MSELECT is looking to hire Case Managers for a local NGO to be based in Duhok, Iraq.

We are seeking to hire four to six local Case Managers to work in our new program to protect and empower vulnerable women and girls through improving the access and quality of MHPSS services for survivors of SGBV in KRI. Under this program, the Case Managers will provide mobile services to women and girls and their families in various locations throughout KRI, primarily within the Duhok governorate. While all Case Managers will receive training and supervision, successful candidates must be compassionate, confident, diligent, trustworthy, resourceful, interested in learning new skills, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Case Managers must be willing and interested to work with team members and women and girls of different religious, ethnic, cultural, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds. All services will be provided in accordance with international ethical standards.

We are seeking candidates to start in January 2017 in Duhok on a 12 month contract. This position reports directly to the Case Management Team Lead.


  • Provide confidential critical care to potential clients and their families throughout KRI (primarily within Duhok governate) through mobile services, including a brief needs assessment and provision of psychosocial support in order to determine the survivor's interest in and need for continued services.
  • Facilitate referrals to partner agencies providing services in accordance with the Standard of Care, as needed per each individual case. Ensure particularly complicated cases are identified and referred to the Case Management Team Lead.
  • Provide confidential ongoing MHPSS services to clients and their families, as needed, to include the collaborative development of a Case Plan using SMART goals. 
  • Document all interactions with clients or other contacts in relation to a client's case in accordance with NGO's case management system.
  • Develop and facilitate effective group sessions, as relevant to the population being served.
  • Participate in supervision sessions with the Case Management Team Lead and MHPSS Project Manager, as required.
  • Attend relevant training sessions, as assigned, to ensure that the highest quality services can be delivered.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of outreach and community engagement plans.
  • Support the development and utilization of a camp-specific referral pathway for SGBV cases.
  • Maintain positive relationships with program partners.
  • Perform other duties as necessary, as assigned by supervisor.


  • University degree in social work, psychology or related field, or a minimum 2 years of professional experience as a social/case worker/case manager within an NGO.
  • Experience providing case management, basic psychosocial support services, and community outreach; experience providing psychological first aid a plus.
  • Experience working with IDPs, refugees, survivors of SGBV, and other populations experiencing a lack of social protection and social inequalities.
  • Strong belief in human rights and gender equality.
  • Good interpersonal skills including ability to gain trust and build relationships with team members and clients.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • High standard of spoken and written Arabic or Kurdish; English is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a stressful setting and adapt quickly to changing environment.
