Job Description

MSELECT is looking for a Coiled Tubing, Slickline and Well Testing Supervisor for an international oil operator client in Kurdistan, Minimum 20 years in Coiled tubing, slickline and Well Testing experience rotation is 28/28.
Key responsibilities
  • Leader of the wellsite team with overall responsibility for conducting well operations in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Leads safety meetings and service company pre-job safety meetings to ensure good communication at all times.
  • Identifies high risk situations, documents them, and adopts risk mitigation approach.
  • Performs daily HSSE / contractor equipment inspections.
  • Implements the application of the Permit-To-Work System at the wellsite.
  • Assures the issuing and dissemination among the rig site personnel of all Emergency Response Plans to handle unscheduled events.
  • Conducts Safety Drills related to well control and other potential hazards involved in well operations.
  • Participates in HSE and non-conformance event investigations and reporting as required.
  • Focal point on location for emergency response.
Planning and Operations
  • Coordinates Rigless and Well Testing operations with contractors on site to ensure compliance with the approved well programs in line with Norsok standards and company procedures.
  • Ensures well control event preparedness.
  • Verifies adherence to instructions and procedures as per the approved program in place.
  • Organizes pre-job meetings on site (Operations and Safety).
  • Supervises making up Well Intervention thru tubing toolstring (Coiled Tubing and Slickline) and ensures all ID’s/OD’s, create toolstring data sheets.
  • Assist the CWT Superintendent where required with creating CWI well programs.
  • Responsible for checking all completion equipment and tools on site after delivery to ensure readiness (QA/QC).
  • Assist when required other well intervention operations (supervision, reporting, etc.).
  • Helps manage slickline equipment inventory in conjunction with warehouse and wellsite.
  • Witness the PCE pressure and function tests.
  • Plan and prioritize Rigless activities and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Supervise all contractors involved in Rigless and Well testing operations.
  • Work with CWT team and develop well intervention / well testing operations wellsite guidelines for the service hands. Ensures that these guidelines are implemented and followed.
  • Must be flexible to support extended operations beyond a normal working day when required
  • Be proactive in anticipating well intervention and well testing ops challenges and quick and effective when reacting to issues.
  • Review invoices and vendor tickets to insure proper cost and coding.
  • Daily calls and communication with the CWT Superintendent in town office.
  • Prepares Daily Reports during all CWT operations (DWR).
  • Prepares Daily Cost Tracker during all CWT operations (DCR).
  • Documents within 24 hours any failure or incident report (in SYNERGY where access possible).
  • Discusses program changes with CWT team being proactive in improvement suggestions.
  • Initiates the Management of Change (MOC) process when required and communicates the issue to the CWT Superintendent.
Qualification required
  • Minimum 20 years Coiled tubing, slickline and Well Testing experience, including Coiled Tubing / Slickline Unit rig ups, pressure testing, running / pulling, shifting SSDs, rigging up Well Test package, testing well test spread, DST (Drill Stem testing) and executing these activities on wellsite.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take directions from CWT superintendent(s), and focus attention to details.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with limited direct supervision.
  • Must be capable of completing and tracking multiple tasks simultaneously, and often under tight deadlines.
  • Must have a track record of recent experience as a Well Site / Workover Rig Supervisor.
  • Must possess valid well intervention control certificate.
  • A valid H2S ticket.
  • Safety courses required to carry out work at site and in accordance with company policy and as required by Country law and regulations.
Key Competencies
  • Preferably have a qualification degree in applied Physics or a similar technical or scientific discipline.
  • Have twenty (20) or more years of well interventions and well testing experience, preferably in an operational capacity at the well site.
  • Fluent in English. Arabic is an advantage but not necessary.
  • Have experience integrating technical and business activities on multi-discipline projects, which include supervision of technical activities.
  • Ability to work effectively with others. Strong HSE leadership.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Can work in a multi-national environment.
  • Demonstrates commitment to HSSE policy and statement and knows and understands expectations as detailed in the HSSE Management System.
  • Develops highly positive relationships with both field and office teams.
  • Demonstrates highly effective communication skills e.g. operational reporting, high visibility working relationships.
