Job Description

MSELECT is looking to hire an Emergency Response Team Member for an oil and gas service client in Kurdistan. Candidates must be in good physical shape and have good communication skills. Kurdish fluency and a working knowledge of English is a must.


Role Purpose

  • Respond to emergency situations and protect people, the environment and property from all types of accident and emergencies
  • You will work closely with the company work force to increase their level of fire safety awareness, in order to help prevent fires and accidents from occurring
  • You will promote fire safety and enforce fire safety standards in all client premises, you will act and advise on all matters relating to the protection of life and property from fire and other risks
  • In the role you will continually learn and update your knowledge through a series of lectures, exercises, practice drills and training, which are an integral and on-going part of the job
  • When on rest Emergency Response Team Members (available 24 hours) will be on emergency standby and be available for any emergency incidents that may occur

Key Knowledge Requirements

  • Experience Level – Entry level, no prior experience required

Job Functions

  • Operational Incidents (24 hours’ availability for incidents)
  • Respond to all emergency incidents as directed by supervisor


Key Duties

  • Operate vehicle mounted and portable pumps
  • Operate client firefighting and rescue equipment
  • Drive Fire Vehicles and perform driver operator duties.
  • Wear SCBA in hazardous environments
  • Perform casualty support and First Aid measures


Daily Routine Activities

  • Take part in drills as per organizational requirements within the client Concession Area to ensure that client HSE standards are being maintained
  • Complete assigned drill tasks issued by Fire Team Manager under the supervision of Fire Team Leader
  • Ensure all equipment is operationally ready after drills
  • Take part in all Emergency Response training sessions
  • Attend all Emergency Response & external training as per client Fire Team Training plan
  • Conduct daily / monthly / annual checks on fire vehicles and equipment
  • Identify shortfalls / unserviceable equipment and report to Fire Team Manager
  • Perform Fire Extinguisher & Fire Alarm inspections. Carry out site Fire Safety assessments and inspections
  • All site fire safety and fire safety equipment inspections will be carried out by fire team personnel
  • Inform Fire Team Manager of any Team Member HR related issues so that it can be raised and resolved promptly
