Job Description

MSELECT is looking to hire a Field Journey Manager for a major oil & gas company to be based in Duhok, Iraq.

 

Basic purpose of the role

 

Provide safe and secure Field Journey Management, advice the JMC Manager on all related policy, training and assessments.

 

Responsibilities

  • To provide safe and secure Field Journey Management on behalf of Company’s dealing with all related matters
  • To advise the JMC Manager on all related policy, training and assessment and audit standards related to Field Journey Management in the field
  • To ensure all driving and vehicle related activity is carried out in line OGP365.
  • Ensuring Company’s Travel Risk Management (TRM) procedure is current and adhered to
  • To check, record and audit driver and vehicle documentation
  • To establish and ensure the effective running of the field Block Motor pool
  • To establish vehicle driver training to include initial driver ‘check tests’, regular assessments and monitoring of driving standards, off road and snow /ice driver training
  • To ensure the effective use of IVMS
  • To ensure vehicle communications are effective and all vehicle users clearly understand communications procedures
  • To be responsible for the delivery of effective vehicle and driving safety briefings to all Company’s staff, contractors and sub-contractors.
  • The control of all Company’s vehicles in the field Block ensuring they are safe to drive, regularly maintained in accordance with maintenance schedules and are equipped with the necessary safety and repair equipment
  • To manage the distribution and use of fuel in the field block ensuring regular checks are made and meticulous documentation is maintained and available for audit
  • To design and conduct regular and imaginative driving safety awareness campaigns
  • To maintain budgetary control over vehicles and fuel
  • To liaise daily with the JM Erbil on all JM matters
  • To liaise daily with the RSO ensuring he is fully briefed and conversant with all driving safety matters
  • To maintain regular and friendly relations with the OPF and assist with their vehicle management when required
  • To ensure all Erbil transits are received and dispatched in-line with Company field rules for JM
  • The coordination of all journeys made by Company’s vehicles within the field Block
  • To ensure all drivers and journey related security staff are trained in and adhere to Company’s TRM procedure with specific emphasis on safety of all journeys

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Qualified and professional driver with vehicle fleet management experience
  • Defensive driving trained
  • A Professional driving qualification and/or experience in a driving management role
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a security related sector
  • Operational military or other experience
  • 5 years’ experience in a management role, ideally driving related
  • Weapons and explosives aware
  • Experience of training design, management and delivery
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Fluent (written and verbal) in English 
  • Stress resistant and a strong team-player
  • Ability to live/work in a remote and challenging environment
  • IT literate: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in contracts management
