MSELECT is hiring a Finance Officer for an international development organization in Baghdad. Candidate must have at least 5 years of relevant experience and fluency in English and Arabic is a must

A. Responsibilities
The Accounting Professional is responsible for
  • Ensuring that financial administration functions well in accordance with organization standard procedures
  • Effectively coordinating with the staff of the finance team or the Commercial Affairs Department at Head Office, also with admin and finance staffs in projects
  • Financial planning, monitoring and accounting for organization-assisted projects
  • Is responsible for timely and accurate bookkeeping of projects and /or projects ? Staff Payroll Processing
The accounting professional performs the following tasks:

The Accounting Professional
  • Manages Letters of Credit (Program & Office)
  • Bank Correspondence
  • Maintains Cash/Bank Books for Office
  • Ensures transactions are properly recorded and entered the electronic cash/bank books using GIT software
  • Prepares and Reconciles Bank Statements.
  • Prepares Cash Reconciliations
  • Project/Office Funding
  • Manages Country Office Petty Cash
  • Makes all salary related payments for organization National personnel.
  • Makes all payments related to travel claims, travel tickets for programs/country office, invoices for procurement of good and services.
  • Monitors Country Office FIMO
  • Ensures that Financial document are prepared in Accordance with Acceptable Rules. Handles other Financial Services for Programs outside the Country on Request.
  • Ensures that tax returns for all revenue’s boards are filed promptly.
  • Ensures that withholding taxes are remitted on time.
2. Other duties/additional tasks The Accounting Professional
  • Reports all problems with financial administration and compliance without delay
  • Is responsible for filing in accordance with organization rules
  • Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management
  • Takes over the responsibility for Coordinating, task sharing and ensuring implementation of all job requests received.
Required qualifications, competences and experience Qualifications
  • BA in Accounting and auditing or similar area, relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
Professional experience
  • At least 5 years’ professional experience in a comparable position
Other knowledge, additional competences
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting software
  • Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • Confidential handling of data and information
  • Very good knowledge of the European language widely used in the country, ideally a knowledge of German
  • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
  • Soft skill
Contract Duration:
