MSELECT is hiring a Journey Manager for an international oil and gas operator in Erbil. Candidate must have minimum 10 years’ relevant experience and Fluency in English, Kurdish and Arabic is a must

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
  • To manage the Erbil vehicle fleet in accordance with OGP 365 Land Transportation Safety Recommended Practice.
  • To advise company Management on all related policy, training, assessment and audit standards related to driving and vehicle fleet management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensuring company Travel Risk Management (TRM) procedure is current and adhered to.
  • To check, record and audit driver and vehicle documentation
  • To establish and ensure the effective running of the Erbil based motor pool
  • To establish vehicle crew training to include initial driver ‘check tests’, regular driving assessments, cross country driver training and monitoring of driving standards
  • To ensure the effective use of IVMS
  • To ensure vehicle communications are effective and all vehicle users clearly understand communications procedures
  • To be responsible for the delivery of effective vehicle and driving safety briefings to all company related transports and transits
  • The control of all company vehicles at the Erbil base ensuring they are safe to drive, regularly maintained in accordance with manufacturers maintenance schedules and are equipped with the necessary safety and repair equipment
  • To manage the distribution and use of fuel in at Erbil base ensuring regular checks are made and meticulous documentation is maintained and available for audit
  • To design and conduct regular and imaginative driving safety awareness campaigns
  • To maintain budgetary control over vehicles and fuel
  • To liaise daily with the JMC Manager on all JM matters
  • To ensure all Erbil transits are received and dispatched in-line with company LD Transit Protocols
  • To ensure all drivers and journey related security staff are trained in and adhere to company TRM procedure with specific emphasis on safety of all journeys
QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING REQUIRED
Essential
  • Professional Transport Management Qualification
  • Working knowledge and the ability to effectively use the following systems – MS Word; Excel; Power Point and Outlook
  • Trained in Defensive Driving Techniques as well as Off road and 4x4 Driving and recovery Techniques.
  • Trained as an instructor / trainer as well as prior experience presenting training courses.
  • A functional understanding and previous experience of Journey Management tasks and responsibilities.
  • Fluent in reading and writing English
Preferred
  • Previous working experience within the Middle East – preferably Iraq and KRG (military / law enforcement / corporate)
  • Diploma or degree in Management.
  • An understanding of the Arabic and Kurdish culture.
  • An understanding and working knowledge of PSD principles.
  • Trained and qualified in the use of small arms.
  • Trained in offensive driving with normal sedans; SUV’s as well as B6 / B7 vehicles.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Essential
  • A Professional driving qualification and/or experience in a driving management role
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a security related sector
  • Operational military experience
  • 5 years’ experience in a management role, ideally driving related
  • Weapons and explosives aware
  • Experience of training design, management and delivery
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Fluent (written and verbal) in English
  • Stress resistant and a strong team-player
  • Ability to live/work in a remote and challenging environment
  • IT literate: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred
  • Experience in contract management

  • Must be willing to work on a back to back rotation schedule.
