Job Description

Our client is currently looking for an expat O&G Construction Project Manager to be working for a short time contract. 


  • At least 10 years experience as a Project Manager in the O&G industry.
  • Successful candidate should have demonstrable evidence of delivering 3 or more substantial projects on time and on budget.
  • Graduate in relevant engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification (not an all out requirement, if has extensive experience and training, but preferred).
  • Experience across planning, scheduling, estimating and cost control functions.
  • Preference is given to candidates with work experience in emerging and frontier markets though not essential.
  • Highly focused towards implementing QA/QC Procedures as per our standards (HSE, OSHA-18001).
  • Project, Commissioning/Pre-Commissioning/Engineering Management
  • Contract Administration & Management.
  • Site Activities/Construction Management.
  • Process/Operation Management.
  • PMP certification.
  • Knowledge, capability, and experience in project management software, e.g. MS Project, PRIMAVERA or equivalent.
  • Requirement to work in Erbil head office, client offices and remote field offices.
  • Extensive administration skills required.
  • English is a must.



  • Ensure all Company Procedures are followed by Mechanical/E&I Project Personnel.
  • Interact with Management concerning mechanical and E&I activities and issues.
  • Prepare initial budget of the project based on Operational budget in coordination with the operations Manager.
  • Prepares the organization chart of the Project Team and deliverables; in the project initial phase, the co-ordination procedure.
  • Installing onshore-based piping, pipelines and utilities: boilers, compressors, generators, rotating equipments installation work.
  • Planning management in terms of scheduling and ensuring preventive maintenance of various gases: natural gas, O2 gas, N2 gas.
  • Involved in fabrication activities with fabrication team in the yard from a managing standpoint.
  • Ensures the development and the revision of the Project Plan, monitors the progress of the project phases, in accordance with the scheduled times and the cost and quality estimates.
  • Prepares Cost Forecast Report at the beginning of the project in conjunction with the Project Control Engineer.
  • Ensures the correct allocation of the resources necessary for carrying on and completing the project.
  • Authorizes whatever is foreseen and planned for the completion of the various work phases, and analyzes the cost estimate, adopting the necessary corrective actions when called for.
  • Is the primary Company representative in dealings with the Client and ensures that good relations are kept with the Client’s representative’s, in observance of contractual obligations.
  • Ensures that the level of performance is in accordance with the Contract specifications, that the costs fall within the estimate limits, and that the execution time of the projects phase progress as set down in the contract.
  • Keeps the appropriate communications with the Operations Manager and the connections with the Departments concerned in order to ensure an efficient project management.
  • Makes the critical and continuous revision of the contract. Asks, if necessary, for the assistance of the Commercial and Legal to solve all disputes or to interpret the contract itself. Ensures that all aspects of the project are in accordance with the Client’s specifications and the company procedures and policies.
  • Ensures the preparation, implementation, and updating of the project Quality Plan and ensures that all project members are familiar with its contents.
  • Defines and organizes the utilization of the human resources, machinery, materials, Contractors, and anything else, plans the necessary procedures for the execution of the project.
  • Carries out all contract negotiations with the Client, including additional work and variations. Carries out monitoring and produces reports on the project’s general performance.
  • Collaborates closely with the Managers of the Administrative and Finance Department for a regular updating of the state of the Client’s payments; indicates the most important contract deadlines and identifies the events that may cause delays in the payments.
  • Undertakes any necessary actions with the Client with regard to payments in the event of disputes or anomalous delays.
  • Coordinates the requests for the construction activities with the Construction Manager and the Operation Manager.
  • Starts up and coordinates the monthly invoicing activity.
  • Internal management of the Subcontractors during all the project phases in order to ensure the conformity of the work with the contract specifications.
  • Works toward technical close-out of the project in observance of the coordination requirements connected with the work progress.
  • Assists the Client during the warranty period.
  • Produces a project close-out report containing all significant information for future use by the Company.
  • Handovers, all final project documents such as As-Built drawings, Electronic data, Operation & Maintenance Manuals etc. to the Engineering and Operations Department through
