Job Description

MSELECT is looking to hire a Legal Manager (CSR Dept.) for an international oil and gas operator in Erbil. Candidates must have at least 6 years of experience in the same role. English fluency is a must.


  • Organization and coordination of the legal work for the client’s branch in Erbil, Kurdistan
  • Quality control and deadlines for the execution of work, internal consultations of business clients of the client’s branch in Erbil
  • Development and approval of the LNDs of the client (including organization of procurement of legal services, budgeting and payment of invoices, organization of reporting on legal services)
  • Participation in the Tender Committee
  • Development of standard forms of contracts, agreements, amendments thereto in accordance with the requirements of business clients of the company
  • Independent legal due diligence of contracts / tenders, transactions carried out by the client, as part of the implementation of five (5) Production Sharing Agreements
  • Participation in negotiations on conclusion, execution and closure of contracts
  • Coordination and introduction of changes (in separate provisions) of standard forms of contracts and agreements
  • Preparation and / or approval of legal opinions on execution of contracts and conduct of general business activities of the client branch in Kurdistan
  • Preparation and / or approval of legal opinions on the implementation of five (5) Production Sharing Agreements in Kurdistan
  • Solving legal issues on construction contracts, design contracts and EPC contracts
  • Solving legal issues related to drilling and workover contracts
  • Solving legal issues of service contracts and supply contracts in Kurdistan
  • Solving legal issues of projects for the implementation of five (5) Production Sharing Agreements in Kurdistan
  • Solving legal issues under insurance contracts and bank guarantees, as well as contracts for provision of intellectual property rights
  • Coordination of labor disputes, counseling on labor issues
  • Budgeting, administration of contracts with external legal consultants

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • High professional education degree is required
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze large amount of data and information objectively, and make quick decisions
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills
  • Must have a strong understanding of international finance and economic principles
  • Must have demonstrated managerial skills
  • English fluency is a must
  • Advanced user of MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook, Visio
