MSELECT is looking for Local National Trainer for a local security company in Erbil. Must have minimum of 5 years’ experience in security, with fluency in English is a must.

The local national trainer is critical to the effective conduct of all company operations. The company training team is the main focal point for the delivery of all internal and external training courses as well as routine continuation training. The trainers are overseen by the company Country Manager but, due to the nature of the role, must be capable of, and trustworthy enough to, operating with minimal supervision.
  • Must be experienced enough to command the respect of all company employees from the newest static guard to the most experienced team leader.
  • Must be confident in their own knowledge of security operations and in their ability to communicate their knowledge to others.
  • Trainers are responsible for conducting all training for company personnel, both initial and ongoing as well as external training courses, as may be requested by company client companies.

  • To ensure all company employees maintain a professional approach, appropriate client etiquette, competence, discipline and presentation.
  • To ensure that the SMT’s conduct effective administration to include vehicle maintenance, equipment husbandry/accountability reports and paperwork returns.
  • Assists adhoc with tasking’s in the event of low manpower.
  • Deliver all company training (internal and external) to a high standard at all times.
  • Ensure all training conducted is signed for at the point of delivery and recorded on the company DMS training tracker.
  • Assists the CM in creation of any new training programmes.
  • Maintain the DMS training folders.
  • Ensure the company training wing is maintained to a high standard.
  • Assists the CM with creation of the monthly training plans.
  • Assist the CM / expat management with the running of live firing training.
  • Conduct QAQC checks of country staff throughout their duties.
  • Ensure company SOPs are adhered to by all company personnel.
  • The company trainers must possess and be able to demonstrate knowledge of all positions: static guards, drivers, CPOs, team leaders and watch keepers.
  • They must be able to demonstrate situational awareness and understand the atmospherics of all company areas of operation. They must understand the key operating characteristics of company vehicles and be able to advise other staff in this area of operations.
  • They must comply with vehicle administrative procedures and file all related paperwork.
  • They must possess extensive knowledge, understanding and be able to demonstrate competence in the full range of company Standard Operating Procedures and personal skills including but not limited to client etiquette, discipline, company low profile approach, dismounted contact / immediate action drills, reporting procedures, navigation, communications, RUF, HSE, etc.
  • Not only must trainer possess these skills, but they must be equipped to teach and assess other company employees in the application of these same skills.
  • Worked in the military, police or a security company previously - preferable.
  • The ability to converse in English to the clients, CM, and to relay all messages accurately to the full spectrum of company staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to act decisively when necessary – i.e. strong leadership skills.
  • As part of a large operation, a willingness to take on tasks that fall outside your core competence in order to ensure continuity in the day to day running of the operation.
  • IT literate is a must. Excellent working knowledge of standard IT and Microsoft operating systems, including Word and Excel.
  • Must be over the age of 21.
  • Must be in possession of a Jinseya and or Passport for vetting.
  • Must have been cleared through the MOI/ Asiash for vetting.
  • Physical: Demonstrably physically fit.
  • Must have minimum 2 years’ experience as trainer
  • 5 years’ experience in security
  • Experience as access controller and driver
  • Operational experience at all levels of security operations.
  • Previous military, police or private security experience.
  • Fluent spoken English
  • Excellent Written English
  • Able to command, control and respect company employees of all levels of seniority.
  • To liaise with the company Management in order to ensure effective training is carried out in line with the company Training Directive and priorities given by the company Management, as detailed by company policies and procedures in place.
  • Maintain and build upon the operational and functional relationship with a variety of company clients.
  • Provide guidance to all company staff on security related issues and refer any clients to company Management for other security queries.
