Job Description

Mselect is looking for a Logistics Operations Coordinator / Finance Administrator in Basra for it's major client in the logistics sector. The main purpose of this role is to investigate, plan and implement effective and relevant transport into and out of Iraq that best suit the customer's needs. Minimum of 2 years of experience is required with Fluency in English and Arabic.
  
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinating Air, Sea and Land Operations for Import / Export
  • Expediting deliveries within Iraq     
  • Utilize the company's preferred vendor list and rates to best price and route customer shipments
  • Stay up to date on the rules and regulations of operations within and around the Iraq     
  • Independently and within the team, construct solutions to challenges and obstacles in logistics operations activity and procedures    
  • Continuously communicate with other company locations on requirements in order to offer consistent and smooth solutions  
  • Clearly communicate with customers on the status at all stages for their shipment(s) from point to point    
  • Update the logistics system jobs for all air/sea/overland export shipments    
  • Stay in constant communication with the Iraqi clearance departments and ensure smooth shipment clearance and delivery to the customer on time    
  • Complete Costing & Billing for both Import and Export jobs in timely manner as per the SOPs    
  • Assist the Quoting Team as well as Moving Department with securing rates and coordination of moves, if required   
  • Any other related duties / projects assigned by the direct supervisor from time to time to meet the business exigencies    
  • Help identify and develop best practices for Iraq operations
  • Proactively manage changes, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans 
  • Minimize operational costs, optimize efficiency, increase operations profitability 
  • Petty Cash / Financial Controlling    
  • Handle, manage and report petty cash used for daily operations and company requirements according to the relevant job & company expenses   
  • Manage company cash and petty cash     
  • Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures     
  • Prepare all inter company filing, petty cash and weekly reports
  • Daily audit of local banking and preparing transfer requests    
  • Assist in the review and due diligence of current and potential vendors    
  • Manage local company Accounts Receivable, collections and reporting    
  • Track and manage statutory and internal sick and holiday reporting     
  • Keep HQ up to date on any legal and statutory changes which may effect the company    

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Minimum 2 years Logistics Operations Experience in the Middle East     
  • Strong English skills (written and verbal) are essential. Kurdish and Arabic are highly welcomed    
  • Strong customer service skills    
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with web-based applications    
  • Preferred university graduate    
  • Knowledge of the Iraq Customs Clearance regulations and practices
