Job Description

MSELECT is looking to hire a Material/Document Controller for one of the leading providers of solutions to the oil and gas and construction industries to be based in a field near Sulaimaniya.

Responsibilities:

  • Protects Contractor Company and thereby Company from contractual risk by working in a process of continuous improvement to encourage/promote the introduction and implementation of best practice contracting methodology and practices.
  • Support Material Management in the day-to-day activities for procuring and expediting of material. Incumbent is also responsible for planning and executing of procurement activities to meet project requirements with regard to cost and schedule.

Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility
  • Positively and constructively represents EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management services) mission and vision to all external contacts at all opportunities
  • Responsible for taking action to prevent damage to the health and safety of self, other people and/or property. Responsible for taking prompt and correct action when actual damage occurs
  • Maintain confidentiality of information at all times.
  • Ethically and respectfully builds and maintains effective working relationships.
  • Utilizes effective communication skills to ensure information is distributed in a timely and clear manner.
  • Daily correspondence with freight forwarding, logistic, warehouse and subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of materials.
  • Maintain material registry for inbound, outbound, and issuance to subcontractors.
  • Produce and update weekly/monthly project material movement reports.

Requirement:

  • The ideal candidate will be proactive. They will demonstrate broad experience in Oil & Gas Brownfield and Greenfield facilities, preferably with EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management services) contractors. Middle East experience on similar projects would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate experience in past project involvement in small to medium size projects.
  • Able to exercise good judgement in safeguarding confidential or sensitive information and adhere to high standards of confidentiality and honesty.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, analyses alternatives, and develops viable recommendations.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks to perform job functions in an orderly, efficient manner.
  • Demonstrated high order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a multinational environment, with wide exposure to various cultures and customs.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal) with ability to interact across multiple disciplines.
  • A high level of computer literacy.
  • Understand the market standard delivery time of the material / equipment.
  • Capable of analyzing and commenting about a detailed project schedule and a Material Delivery Status Report.
  • Broad experience of vendor expediting, including typical expediting problems and solutions, and expediting techniques.
  • Able to organize and manage progress meetings with vendor and client, including drafting the MOM for procurement and collating comments from other disciplines.
  • Manages and tracks work systematically.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the main Legal, Business, or Engineering branches, i.e. Mechanical, Civil, electrical, chemical, or equivalent.
  • Preferably having worked in a similar role for a considerable number of 3 years in a brownfield project, with total of 8 years in Contracting and Procurement within oil & gas / petrochemical environment.
