Job Description

Mselect is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer for one of it's major local industrial leaders in the Kurdistan Region. The main scope of the work is to ensure that maintenance and replacement of mechanical equipment is performed with efficiency and that deviations from normal performance of rotating equipment are fully carried out. Minimum of 5 years of power plant maintenance experience is required with proficiency in Kurdish and English languages.

  • Supervises staff at the level determined by senior management 
  • Operates within a cycle of established work routines consisting of Daily, Monthly and Yearly mechanical equipment schedules
  • For mechanical equipment develop Quality Control Plans, Inspection & Test Plans and keeps a database of inspection & test records
  • Operate and validate preventive and predictive maintenance programs on mechanical  equipment
  • Track, analyze and improve key maintenance parameters such as equipment utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance and schedule compliance
  • Supervise the implementation of these programs in accordance operations and maintenance functions 
  • Supervise assigned teams and manage the contractors assigned 
  • Optimize the maintenance for mechanical equipment with other Maintenance and Operations staff
  • Supervise and coordinate repairs, tuning and equipment replacement of mechanical equipment
  • Prepare and check maintenance field instructions and procedures for equipment
  • Coordinate with for spare parts, and Electrical Maintenance for all operations
  • Coordinate with the relevant departments of the Plant for equipment modifications
  • Closely apply and follow-up all processes to manage notifications, work orders preparation and closing, parts ordering, job history recording and ensure work order closed after work completion with updated report and attachments
  • Monitor work in progress to ensure jobs are on schedule and quality criteria are met
  • Following standard processes for quality, work packs, inspection and statutory compliance
  • Train up technicians on rotating equipment to develop skill sets 
  • Undertakes similar or related work as directed by senior management
Working Environment:
  • 65% of the work is outside reviewing and conducting testing on the equipment
  • 35% of time is spent in the office carrying out analysis and predictive assessments
  • Mechanical Engineering  Degree  or a higher diploma with relevant experience
  • Minimum  5 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering with at least 4 years spent on power plants 
  • Proficient in written and spoken Kurdish and English Languages
  • Must be physically fit, and have MS office skills
