Job Description

MSELECT is looking to hire an Operations Coordinator to be responsible for the effective day to day planning & coordination of shipments, for an international logistics client to be based in Erbil, Iraq.


  • Daily planning and scheduling of all assigned pickup & deliveries
  • Expediting clearance and documentation procedures for client’s shipments
  • Prepare, translate and follow-up on all MOD, PMNOC and other movement approvals with local authorities.
  • Processing and expediting Ministry of Defense documentation for incoming and outgoing shipment.
  • Organize pickup & delivery of assigned shipments though effective communication with shipper & consignee
  • Daily review of active job details and related quote in order to identify opportunities for extra revenue and additional pass through costs thereby increase overall profitability
  • Stay up to date on the rules and regulations with regards to import documentation, in-gating and transit permissions required for deliveries
  • Continuously communicate with client’s shipment Managers and client’s offices in order to relay and provide necessary information / documentation for every shipment
  • Prepare and submit daily operations reports.
  • Input and update shipping information, documentation and costs into client’s database (In track)
  • Stay in constant communication with the Iraqi clearance departments and ensure smooth shipment clearance and delivery to the customer on time.
  • Daily input of status & costs in client’s database in timely manner as per the SOPs.
  • Any other related duties / projects assigned by the direct supervisor from time to time to meet the business requirements
  • Minimize operational costs, optimize efficiency, and increase operations profitability.


  • University degree in a related field is required.
  • Good interpersonal skills including ability to gain trust and build relationships
  • High communication skills
  • High standard of spoken and written English and Kurdish is a must, Arabic is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 4 years of logistics operations experience in Iraq
  • Work well under pressure and able to work long hours if required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Preferred university graduate
  • Computer literate (PC applications: Word, Excel, Open office, Windows)
  • Knowledge of the Iraq Customs Clearance regulations and practices
  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
  • Perform quality work within deadline with or without direct supervision
  • Able to work out of core office hours as required.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Performs well under pressure.
  • Proactively seeks to self-educate on developments in the local and international moving industry. Is acutely aware of the competitors.
  • Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in logistics operations activity and procedures.
