MSELECT is looking to hire a Process Engineer for an international oil and gas operator based in Sulaymaniyah. Candidate must have minimum 7 years’ experience in Engineering and must be fluent in English and Kurdish.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

  • Works with the EM (Engineering Manager), Engineers, SPE (Senior Planning Engineer) to ensure delivery / update plan.

  • Consolidates activities and scopes to meet the schedule.

  • Updates Engineers.

  • Reports to EM.

  • Provide first line process engineering support to the KM (Sulaymaniyah) operations. This position will work closely with the EM and OS (Operations Superintendent) to exploit the plant capability to maximise gas delivery, and liquids recovery, managing the process to maximise the efficiency of both primary & secondary condensate recovery, while adjusting LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) recovery parameters to most effectively meet market demand.

  • Identifies, develops, implements and tracks all Process related and input projects at KM for projects and services at KM by liaison with EM, Engineers, OS, OM (Operations Manager), Erbil and Sharjah Office.

  • Champion role for Process Safety during the MOC processes and existing facilities to reduce overall risk.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Safety Analysis

  • Conducts baseline process assessments of KM facilities.

  • Analyses results of these assessments and distils them into conclusions to present to management.

  • Prepares technical aspects of process improvement measures.

  • Liaises with Sharjah Office Process Engineers (or outsourcing contractors) to ensure planned process changes are peer reviewed.

  • Conducts initial process engineering and process safety related evaluations in coordination with EM and subsequently PM.

Process Engineering

  • Train Operations & Maintenance personnel on process-related matters

  • Develop and enhance data-gathering, conduct de-bottlenecking studies, and increase LPG production.

  • Conduct liquid product specification studies and develop optimum means of plant enhancing liquids revenues.

  • Conduct dynamic studies of Sulaymaniyah plant, and tune plant to enhance availability/reliability using HYSIS.

  • Undertake process studies of plant rotating and processing equipment, to determine actual vs design performance.

  • Builds and updates HYSYS plant models to maintain the actual process details updated as a tool for verification and improvement of plant performance.

Process Liaison

  • Develops excellent relations with all Engineering Team to ensure smooth execution of process projects on time in budget and to specification.

  • Provides EM with current and projected process issues for all ER’s (Engineering Requests) / WO’s (Work Orders) / Studies throughout the year on a weekly basis.

Reporting and Communication

Reports to the EM on all process issues.

Exhibits and maintains excellent working relationships with all Company staff.

  • Reports to the EM and Operations Manager and General Manager by exception.

  • Works with Engineers and specifically MOC (Management of Change) Closeout Coordinator to ensure that details from all equipment is stipulated to allow seamless closeout and meet Operational needs.

  • Enhances relationships with counterparts in other oil and gas companies to keep pace with process trends and techniques / tools.

Continuous Development of Position

Conducts studies to identify areas for improvement on continuous basis particularly those related to Process Engineering analysis and procedures. Recommends subsequent actions to EM.

  • Leads a culture of continuous improvement and promotes new approaches that would improve delivery, increase productivity and reduce cost.

  • Inputs to and drives any enhancements of MSAs (Manpower Services Agreements) to align with Process engineering needs in liaison with KMSCLO.

  • Identify SAP (Systems Applications Products, Enterprise Resource Planning system) aspects for improvement.

Decision–making Authority

  • Process Engineering related decision for proposed projects, projects in execution and risks/opportunities in the process facilities.

Working and Other Reporting Relationships

  • Engineering Manager Frequent/daily

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Must be capable and willing to mentor others including B2B in core skills areas.

Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

Minimum Professional Experience Required

  • Minimum (7) years’ experience in engineering, preferably Process Engineering with at least 5 years with operating facilities / or equivalent

  • Minimum (5) years’ engineering experience in operating facilities.

  • Troubleshoot plant issues and emergency failure reaction and remediation of the process.
