MSELECT is looking to hire a QA QC Team Lead for an international oil and gas operator in Kurdistan. Candidate must have minimum 10 years’ relevant experience and fluent in English.

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced QA-QC engineering and construction professional to manage the Quality Assurance (QA) & Quality Control (QC) team for the operations sites in Kurdistan. The QA QC team lead will be joining an international and dynamic working environment characterized by experienced, skilled and motivated employees.

  • The team lead will be responsible for the management and growth of a diverse team of quality control inspectors covering all disciplines and construction works performed on company operations sites.

  • The team lead will be responsible for the development, Implementation and continuous improvement of the Project Quality Management System (PQMS)

  • The team lead will be the focal point for quality related technical issues and will monitor and ensure maintenance of project quality standards during construction, installation, commissioning and initial operations of the facilities, and will actively engage in planning and work management, together with the Contractor’s QA/QC departments at project sites to ensure compliance with project engineering drawings, industry codes and company standards.

  • The team lead will provide mentoring and training to expatriate and local national inspection staff. In accordance with a structured training process focusing on formal, informal and on the Job Training.

  • The team lead will prepare QA/QC input & data to the weekly project progress reports for project management, including QA -QC KPI development and measurement relating to corporate and project quality assurance requirements.

  • The team lead will develop, implement, improve and maintain the regional short and long-term objectives for quality management.

  • The team leader will participate in the safety leadership training program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and management of the QA/QC team

  • Focal point for QA/QC with Engineering, Construction & Operations.

  • Development of Project Quality Management System

  • Preparation and revision of Company QA/QC Procedures

  • Review of Contractor ITPs & Quality Plans

  • Reporting and auditing of QC Activities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable engineering drawings, industry codes and company standards.

  • Review of contractor submitted As-Built drawings and documents.

  • Management of technical queries in conjunction with the Engineering team.

  • Management of Non-Conformance.

  • Development of Project filing structure and supporting PQMS quality tools

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in construction projects, preferably within the oil and gas industry.

  • BEng, relevant BSc degree, Technical diploma or relevant equivalent experience.

  • Experience in contractor management and contract procedures with regards to Quality Assurance & Quality Control.

  • Proven track record in both developing PQMS and Implementation.

  • Familiar with commonly used project management concepts and tools, used to contribute project control information.

  • A proven level of competency and execution in Non-destructive testing methods.

  • A proven level of competency and execution in Welding Inspection.

  • A proven level of competency and execution in Auditing.

  • Membership of a professional body such as Quality Institute, BINDT, IRCA, ASNT etc
