Job Description

Sales and Production Manager

The jobholder is responsible for overall management of the Sales Operations ensuring that vehicles ordering is planned and executed within deadlines and adhering to agreed/approved packages and basic combinations.

The job holder is as well responsible for generating analysis and proposals that maintains prime variants-positioning in the market i.e. vehicle packages, pricing strategies and also working closely with sales management in determining annual sales budget, model mix and seasonality distribution. The job holder is also required to ensure presence of clear and smooth communication flow for contingency planning of vehicles restricted codes and/or delayed shipment, understanding of customer requirement to ensure that customers receive vehicle on time and in accordance with required specifications and to also ensure staffs involved in physical movement of stock are adequately trained to safeguard against mishandling of stocks, thereby avoiding scratches and dents which may result.

Vehicle Ordering Process Management

  • Proposes plans that ensure stock age profile and total quantity are within defined threshold to deliver return on capital target for the company.

  • Works closely with the Sales Manager in the development of annual PC sales budget, target agreement, model mix build-up and seasonality that ensures orders are appropriately executed and supporting budget achievement.

  • Coordinates with the sales team to collate sales forecast.

  • Supervises order submission process through manufacturer ensuring order accuracy and timelines.

  • Ensures that production and shipment status of vehicles is appropriately followed and updated in the system, delays (if any) are managed and communicated to the sales team reducing operational disruption and maximizing customer satisfaction.

  • Prepares and submits weekly forecasts to Regional Sales Manager.

  • Overseas the process of receiving incoming vehicles including communicating with the inspection company, transportation company, inspection of incoming cars, and raising any damage claims. 

  • Overseas and tracks the movement of cars between branches and updates the same in Autoline.

Vehicle Package and Product Knowledge Training

  • Recommends vehicle packages for maximizing business revenue and achieving sales targets. This includes reviewing and analyzing customer buying trends, competition strategies and other opportunities to increase our vehicles brand competitiveness and market share.

  • Supervises vehicle package update process in the system once approved by the management ensuring details remain updated at all time.

  • Submits regular reports on competitor analysis and pricing versus our vehicles range.

  • Conducts regular product knowledge sessions with the sales team in order to ensure all are aware of new features, competitor product and pricing and specific sales product strategies identified for growth.

Vehicle Reporting Analysis and Supplier Incentive Claim Management

  • Submits necessary paperwork and actively follows up with on sales support and incentive schemes.

  • Performs pricing analysis/calculation ensuring all factors including vehicle manufacturing, shipping and/or storage cost are appropriately factored in to recommend pricing for new models and/or revision of existing.

  • Works closely with the sales management to ensure that vehicle pricing is regularly updated reflecting accurate costing for further analysis and decision making. This also includes ensuring that factory/manufacturer’s price increases and/or exchange rate variation are timely and accurately captured in the system.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Strategy - Communicates and implements the approved strategy throughout the department through line managers and  maintains regular contact with them via phone, individual meetings and management meetings for supporting and guiding them operationally and strategically ensuring all efforts are in line with the overall Groups, Company’s and Principal’s goals and objectives.
Target Objectives - Sets, monitors , tracks and reviews actual performance of each department and sub-department vs. target using various daily, monthly, and quarterly performance reports ensuring targets are fully met and exceeded and takes action where necessary to address under-performance.

Stock Management - Monitors vehicle stock, oversees marketing activities and Vehicles Ordering process ensuring that marketing activities support the underwritten campaigns supports the fast selling of ordered vehicles. Addresses stock issues where necessary.

Business Relationship Management - Builds and maintains strong relationships with Principal, Key Suppliers, and Key Customers through regular visits and meetings to facilitate business progress and growth.

People Management - Manages people and performance by carrying our regular performance reviews and ensuring sufficient succession planning to ensure the smooth operation of the department.


Qualification

Bachelor Degree or equivalent in related field
 

Experience 

  • Minimum 5 years of sales management experience gained through a progressive career path within automotive industry.

  • Exposure to a “Vehicle Ordering System” especially Auto line would be of added value.
