Job Description

MSELECT is looking to hire a Sales Executive for an international transport company in Basrah, Minimum 3 years commercial sales experience in maritime sector is required. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job Purpose 

The key objective of the role is to add value to the overall sales organization by taking initiative to increase market share, get incremental business and tap into new markets. The role involves getting the best cargo mix possible by generating volumes and revenue with a focus on driving imports sales.

Key Accountabilities 

  • Develop and convert a strong sales pipeline to deliver BU targets and optimize vessel utilization to drive  volume and profitability.

  • Developing account plans (pursuit plans).

  • Manage and grow portfolio of customers and opportunities.

  • Serve as specialist for imports and cross trades.

  • Liaise internally with trading desks and come up with action plans on how to close Import and cross trade businesses and develop the portfolio.

  • Feedback on market information and give clear information to sales coordination regarding pricing requirements to enable future communications with TM and handover to customer service.

  • Completing weekly activity reports to be tabled and discussed during weekly 1 on 1 with line manager.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial sales role,  in the maritime sector with demonstrated experience in driving import and cross trade.

  • Should have extended  working  knowledge of local Iraq market, maritime documents and commercial terms.

  • Active knowledge of sales techniques.

  • Should possess excellent and effective communication and presentation abilities.

  • Should have in-depth  knowledge of  “maritime” language.

  • Should possess  knowledge of MS Office.

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English is a must. Knowledge of a Arabic is critical success factor.
