Job Description

Our client, an international oilfield services provider, is looking for expert Warehouseman with minimum of 5 years’ oil field or associated petrochemical industries experience and strong warehousing and logistic background. The successful candidates will be chosen to work on a rotation pattern of 4 weeks on 4 weeks off in their operation site in Iraq – Badra.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Materials Controller to ensure all maintenance materials within the Badra Contract warehouse and external storage areas are correctly controlled
  • Take control of all stock within the warehouse ensure that it is preserved and maintained to suppliers requirements
  • Vital part of the role is to work closely with the planning team to ensure material items are available for routine weekly scheduled  preventative / corrective maintenance and annual planned maintenance and turnarounds
  • Be fully aware of min/max stock holding levels
  • Items holding certification are re-tested as required and certification is held with the QA/AC Engineer. 
  • Control of stock issues and receipts and the raising of discrepancy reports against damaged items
  • Perform regular stock inventory check of materials stored in the warehouse and all external locations. Report findings formally to Materials Controller
  • Responsible for the promotion and implementation of client’s HSE policies.
  • Ensure materials and equipment for major maintenance and turnarounds are planned in detail and in sufficient time to ensure all items are available at commencement of the work 
  • Responsible for inspection of loan items on return to ensure they are fit for re-issue
  • Promptly inform Planning Team and end user if materials are not available for scheduled maintenance
  • Updating teams on the delivery status of outstanding requirements.
  • Out of hours support
  • Maintain project materials tracking system with the CMMS
  • Ensure new items are provided a bin location and entered into CMMS
  • Maintain all electronic correspondence and documentation in a generic filing system as provided by Materials Superintendent
  • Maintain Bin Cards and stores register
  • Arrange movement of materials between warehouse and sites.
  • Resolve any queries arising from identification of materials, spares and equipment.
  • Design and maintain stores layout and storage of material within the premises/laydown areas  provided by client
  • Maintenance of items that require special storage facilities and ensuring they are inspected regularly so they are not damaged due to climate or environment degradation
  • Maintain agreed min/max stock levels for tools, consumables and PPE, hold consumable stock on a separate register and make agreed items available to operations and minor consumables for out of hours maintenance
  • Focal point for material/equipment returned from site facilities and liaison with the warehouse
  • Highlight fast/slow or non-moving items to Procurement Coordinator and Materials Controller
  • Ensure the security of warehouse and external storage areas prevention, reporting loss of stock immediately
  • Management of redundant stock
  • Maintain a strict control of mechanical handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead crane when operating within the warehouse or external storage areas
  • Knowledgeable on control of substance hazardous to health regulations
  • Designated Warehouse Fire Warden
  • Attend a weekly procurement review meeting
  • Be fully conversant with the following HSE topics:-

  • PPE
  • Rigging, slinging & lifting techniques
  • Working at heights
  • Dropped objects & Trip Hazards

  • Carry out HSE, technical audits and inspections as directed by Project Manager
  • Be conversant with project KPI’s and support their delivery and attainment at all times
  • Have a full awareness of the Company Code of Conduct and Business Ethics
  • Compile or receive detailed written Handover prior to; or completion of, field breaks

Qualifications, Experience & Attributes

  • Technical Diploma in a relevant materials management discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years warehousing and logistics experience in the Oil and Gas or associated Petrochemical industries
  • Expert knowledge of warehouse routines and the control of inventory
  • Good PC skills and an awareness of a CMMS (SAP an advantage)
  • Awareness of routine maintenance operations, major surveys and periodic planned maintenance (Turnarounds)
  • Responsible, with integrity and a safety conscious team player, possessing initiative
  • Languages; Written and oral English is mandatory
