PDMS (Plant Design Management System)

PDMS (Plant Design Management System) is 3-D pipe drafting software used mainly in the off-shore and on-shore oil and gas industry. PDMS’s main purpose is to provide a 3D model for designing big plants with more accuracy as per requirements of the project and client demands for particular software in which they want the project to be executed. PDMS is mostly used by Engineering teams of multi-disciplines to convert engineering ideas into 3D environment. It is used and is relevant to larger plants for designing, modeling and extracting of drawings & reports.

The learning outcomes


  1. The PDMS application allows engineers and designers at multiple locations to simultaneously create, control and manage change to the project.

  2. Be able to describe piping engineering fundamentals along with pipe fittings and components

  3. Elucidate piping codes, standards, and calculations

  4. Create piping and equipment layout

  5. Develop equipment modeling, pipe modeling, structure modeling, cable tray modeling, and HVAC modeling

  6. Prepare piping deliverable documents and drawings

  • Training days: 5,6,7 and 12,13,14 October


Training Objectives:

  • To provide trainees with the basic knowledge of Pipes and Plant Design Management Systems

  • To train engineers to competently design pipes, workflow stations and 3D Plants using the PDMS Software

  • To provide trainees with practical knowledge of the user interface, attributes, positioning and orientation of elements

In addition, there will be a Final Assessment on the last day of the course.

Mechanical/ Production engineers, Electrical, Engineers, Chemical Engineers, Materials Engineers, Construction Engineers, Oil and Gas Engineers, Civil-Structural Engineers, Designers and Draughtsman, Project Engineers and other related disciplines.

After completing the PDMS training course, students receive a training certificate from MSELECT.

  • Software PDMS 12.1

If participants do not have this software installed please inform the training department before the start of the course.
