MSELECT is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor for an International Oil and Gas Services client in Basrah. Candidates must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in well service processes, particularly in relation to the complete well service operation and be fluent in English and Arabic.
 
JOB OBJECTIVE
To ensure regular servicing and maintenance of equipment and availability of maintenance equipment/ materials.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise the regular maintenance and servicing of the machinery and equipment. Also maintain logs of maintenance activity
  • Ensure all maintenance activity is carried out in a safe manner and follows the company's QHSE policies. Also forward to the Base/ Operations Service manager any recommendations that might enhance the quality/ safety/ efficiency of the maintenance processes
  • Responsible for ordering and procurement of repair and maintenance equipment, spare parts and control systems after getting Equipment Maintenance Requests (EMRs) from the department heads
  • Oversee the activities of the maintenance personnel and assist in their training and performance appraisal
  • Responsible for the coordination of equipment maintenance between Base Service Manager, Operations Supervisor, Field Service Supervisors and Equipment Operators
  • Responsible for ensuring all maintenance personnel are receiving the correct training
  • Responsible for the issuing of spare parts and the ordering of parts in conjunction with the storekeeper
  • Must coordinate with Base Service Manager, Service supervisor or Operation Manager before starting any job- Time frame must be addressed before the start of any job
  • Responsible for keeping all operational equipment and vehicles in good working conditions and well maintained as per company policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and repair operational equipment, vehicles and base equipment
  • Ensure that any maintenance or repairs are logged and recorded as per company procedures
  • Ensure that the maintenance schedule is applied to all equipment, vehicles and base equipment
  • Responsible for allocating day-to-day duties for the senior mechanic, mechanic, welder, fabricator, painter, yard foreman and workshop helper
  • Authorizing the use of vehicle or equipment prior to be sent to location
  • Comply with all company quality, health, safety and environmental policies and procedures during any maintenance work
  • Responsible for reporting equipment failures and conducting root cause analysis of the failure
  • Perform hazards and job risk assessments and take actions to execute the job safely and ensuring the highest service quality
  • Ensure all personnel working under him work safely and environmentally aware
  • Implement PTW and lock-out tag out procedure
  • Attend and participate in daily and monthly safety meetings
  • Actively promote a health and safety culture through use of appropriate systems, work practices and evolving technologies and include the integration of QHSE principals into decision making
  • Achieve any State Government or national targets for and Injury Management and plan develop and implement the necessary strategies to meet these targets
  • Rigorously identify and control risks & manages workplace hazards and incidents
  • Implements appropriate corrective actions resulting from incidents or audits
  • Ensure that QHSE communication and consultation systems are implemented and actively promote engagement with the consultative framework
  • Using personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by client and according to the organisation’s instructions for proper use
  • Authorized to stop any activities that do not follow safe work practices
  • Respect all local laws and customs

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Graduate in engineering discipline preferably mechanical engineering
  • Over 7 years of experience in a related field
  • Technical expertise in well services processes especially with respect to the entire well services operation
  • Knowledge of various statutory and regulatory compliances required in the market of operations
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
