MSELECT is looking to hire a Materials & Logistics Specialist for an international oil and gas operator in Duhok. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas Industry. Fluency in English and Kurdish is a must.


JOB OBJECTIVE

The purpose of this position is to coordinate daily logistics and materials activities at well-sites, including movement of equipment and materials, use of cargo transport, lifting equipment and support equipment.

 

MAIN DUTIES

  • Permanently assigned to drilling/work-over sites to perform daily logistics and materials functions for coordination of cargo transport, lifting equipment and receipt/issue of materials
  • Plans materials movement and use of heavy goods vehicles and lifting equipment in line with drilling or work-over daily requirements; Responsible for timely booking of transport and equipment for execution of planned tasks
  • Interacts with personnel at Materials Base in town and with personnel at other sites on the issues of movement of materials and use/sharing of equipment and resources
  • Ensures the drivers and operators are available for work or replacement personnel is provided without delay by the service provider
  • Ensures all drivers and operators are fully trained, are fit to work and have PPE prior to starting of work
  • Ensures all transport and equipment including lifting equipment are duly checked on daily basis and are safe to operate
  • Completes documents related to ordering, receiving or sending of goods, such as delivery notes, packing lists, materials receipt forms, materials requests and other
  • Keeps track of all the materials coming to the well site or sent from the well site; Keeps records, exchanges information on movement of materials on daily basis with the Materials Base in Erbil
  • Updates Company’s inventory database in accordance with goods received, consumed or returned on site.
  • Ensures lay-down areas and storage spaces are available at drilling/work-over sites for the equipment, goods and materials scheduled to be delivered to site
  • Compiles reports on daily activity, including details on the equipment and resources used, the number of personnel involved and daily reports for goods received, consumed and/or returned on-site materials
  • Deals with the documents required for personnel and equipment access to site and the documents required for receipt or dispatch of goods and materials; Generates such documents, collects approvals, informs Security Department personnel and keeps daily records of access documents
  • Studies and complies with company’s LND, implemented in the entity, entity’s LND, regulating the employee’s field of activities (within own competency), including those, requiring compliance with currency legislation
  • In case of operational needs – goes on business trips (within and beyond the territory of the Republic of Iraq)
  • Immediately notifies his/her immediate superior on any situation, posing a threat to life and health of people
  • In required for business purposes – fulfills other assignments from the Manager (within own competency)
  • In the event of incidents acts to preserve the working environment and equipment as they were at the time of the incident (if this does not pose a threat to life and health of employees and does not cause the aggravation of situation) and follows the labor and fire safety requirements
  • Observes the Internal Code of Conduct, established within entity
  • Ensures preservation of commercial and business secrets and other confidential information about Entity’s operations and its customers

JOB REQUIREMENTS


Education:

Professional education is desirable, might be substituted by a reasonably long work experience


Expertise/Skills:

  • A sound knowledge of drilling and workover operations
  • Experience in oil and gas industry not less than 5 years
  • Not less than 3 years field experience on drilling or workover projects
  • Experience in transportation of goods by road, by sea and by air not less than 3 years
  • Familiarity with the requirements for transportation of dangerous goods and hazardous materials
  • Experience with Lifting and Hoisting Operations
  • Communication skills
  • Pro-activeness
  • Problem solving

Foreign languages:

Native Kurdish, Fluency in English is required


Work experience:

  • Not less than 5 years in oil and gas
  • Not less than 3 years field experience on drilling or work-over projects


Computer/Software literacy:

MS Office
