MSELECT is looking for Payroll Officer for a consultancy client in Erbil to join the HR department. Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll is requested, fluency in English is a must.
Payroll Officer responsibilities include calculating employees’ compensation, updating internal payroll databases and ensuring timely payments. To be successful in this role, you should have a flair for numbers and be able to handle sensitive information in a fast-paced environment. If you’re also familiar with labor legislation, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will help run a smooth and accurate payroll process.
Responsibilities:

Collect daily, weekly or monthly timesheets

Calculate expenses and allowances

Prepare employees’ compensation by the end of each month

Schedule bank payments to employees

Distribute payment statements
-
Report on payroll expenses
-
Ensure wages, SS and tax comply with regulations

Enter new employees’ data (e.g. bank accounts and tax identification numbers) into internal databases

Answer employee questions about compensation, benefits, taxes and insurance deductions

Compile key operational payroll metrics & dashboards

Prepare periodic payroll reconciliation and submit reports to the finance manager for review
Requirements:

Over 5 years of experience in Payroll for a large organisation

BSc in Accounting, Human Resources or relevant field

Hands-on experience with HRIS or accounting software

Strong math skills with an ability to spot numerical errors

Good knowledge of labour legislation
