MSELECT is looking to hire a Performance & Employee Relations Specialist for an international oil and gas operator in Basra. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience and be fluent in English.

JOB OBJECTIVE

To act as a liaison between company and employee, overseeing employee relations. This involves receiving and effectively handling employee complaints, escalating these complaints to the level of disciplinary or legal action when necessary, updating employees with any changes in company policy, advising supervisors on treatment of staff and company policies, responds to employee violations of policy and generally helps to resolve conflict in the workplace. In addition, to coordinate the performance management plans and ensure employees’ understanding of performance measures, job expectations, clarity of goals and objectives and performance results. To manage the activities around employee performance assessment, tracking, metrics, and appraisal. Assist with implementation of ERP and HR records management.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Employee Relations:

  • Collecting and using data to create employee profiles in OA system
  • Maintenance of staff management and organizational management data in OA system
  • Assisting ER Section Head and Functional Consultant with initial planning and preparation for SAP ERP as well as throughout different phases of system implementation
  • Prepare reports to communicate information about employee concerns and comments and organizational actions taken
  • Collaborate with Legal departments in the preparation for and participation in negotiation with employee and outside governmental parties
  • Advise managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances
  • Organizing and updating employee records (hardcopies)

Performance:

  • Continuous update of the probation period database for the employees
  • Contact managers for evaluation of the probation period for their newly hired employees
  • Provide support to Managers on the process of probationary evaluation
  • Keeping clean record of completed probation evaluation forms
  • Inform employee(s) of successful/unsuccessful probation period
  • Provide support and explanation to the Managers of the PIP process
  • Closely follow up the evaluation of the PIP
  • Assist Performance Section Head in designing the annual appraisal process
  • Follow up the mid-year set up of the KD’s and update the database of submitted KPIs
  • Assist in the annual performance appraisals and update the database of completed KPIs

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, Communication, Information Technology, Economics, Organizational Development, Social Sciences or related discipline
  • Additional professional certification in HR Management will be considered as advantage
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, understanding, writing, reading)
  • Proficiency in Arabic (speaking, understanding, writing, reading)
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in organization of 50+ employees, governmental institution, industrial company, bank etc.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Sound knowledge of Iraq labor law
  • High level of confidentiality skills
  • Exceptional knowledge and proficiency in MS Office, specifically in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability to form working relationship with people at all levels
  • Experience with implementation of ERP systems
