MSELECT is looking to hire a Performance Section Head for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah. Candidates must have a minimum 10 years’ experience in HR and be fluent in English.

 

JOB OBJECTIVE
To ensure the goals being set by the Company for both the teams, and the individuals, are being met. To implement process of aligning departments, resources, systems, and individuals for the purposes of meeting the goals that define success for the company. To manage the activities around employee performance assessment, tracking, metrics, and appraisal. To ensure the collection, reporting and analysis of all cost information related to recruitment, salaries, insurance, taxation, etc. is accurate and within the budget. Upon request from internal/external audit, to ensure the data provided is accurate by keeping employees’ data confidential.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Description
Employee Performance

  • Developing and managing performance tools, processes, and programs
  • Aligning Company, Departmental and Individual goals and KPIs
  • Designing and evaluating the performance appraisal and tracking systems with assistance of Performance Specialist and Performance Officer
  • Developing performance improvement plans, probation period evaluation, agendas, and progress tracking methods
  • Assessing, developing and assisting with the appropriate key performance indicators and performance goals for specific positions and departments
  • Coordinating the set-up and assessing of the annual KPIs with Performance Specialist and Performance Officer
  • Coordinating the assessment of employees’ contract and its renewal

 

Budget, Cost Control & Reporting

  • Working closely with HR Manager and the rest of the HR Section Heads in the preparation of annual HR budget and forecasting
  • Analyzing current budgeting and reporting processes, capabilities and tools
  • Analyzing and identifying the variances between the actual and budgeted amounts at the end of the reporting period
  • Timely and accurate preparation of reports and analysis, including but not limited to monthly budget report and VOWD
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly labor cost reports
  • Preparing monthly payroll report and internal HR cost report

 

Audit

  • Timely and accurate preparation of necessary data to internal and external Audit by keeping the confidentiality on the highest level

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications

  • Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Economics, Organizational Development, Social Sciences or related discipline
  • Additional professional certification in HR Management will be considered as advantage

 

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in HR
  • 5 years’ experience in peoples management and appraisals, staff performance management processes and tools
  • 5 years’ experience in budget performance management, cost control, financial and operational analysis
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in O&G Industry

 

Job-Specific Skills

  • Knowledge of Iraqi Labor Law, Social Security and Taxation Law
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to speak, understand and write English
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to keep data and information on high confidential level
  • Ability to work independently and in team
  • Knowledge and understanding of people management principles
  • Having ability to plan, coordinate, prioritize tasks under pressure and minimal supervision
  • Prior experience in SAP is an advantage
