MSELECT is looking to hire a QHSE Manager for an industrial and distribution group in Baghdad. Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.
Role Purpose
Key responsibilities
1.Site Quality
Key Activities
- Lead the development of site quality and process capability on site Ensuring that WCM practices are adopted and rolled out through the site
- Introduce Quality First Culture with clearly defined objectives and KPI reporting

- No significant product quality issues in Market place
2.HACCP
Key Activities
- Further the development of HACCP protocols to fully identify all risks to product quality
- Introduce full validation of pre-requisite values on site
- Manage the Zero tolerance on quality defects process

- Full risk analysis available
- Pre-requisite failures to be reported
- Non-conformance process to be embedded
3.Management of Subordinates
Key Activities
- Organize and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within the
- function is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy
- Ensure that all staff are suitably trained and that detailed succession planning is in place at all levels
- Implement the 30 to 90 day objectives format to ( all L6 and above ) staff

4.Policies & Procedures
Key Activities
- Recommend improvements to existing QA/QC policies and procedures and direct the implementation of instructions and controls covering the respective plant so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service

5.Schedule and Planning
Key Activities
- To support Managers / Superintendents for man power schedule as per the plan and control over time within the budget
- Escalate deviation with corrective action and contingency plan

6.Budgets & Plans
Key Activities
- Contribute to the preparation of the quality assurance / control unit’s budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified
- Monitor the financial performance of the quality assurance / control units of activities versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon

7.Financial

- Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of QA/QC unit systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement

9.MIS & Reports
Key Activities
- Prepare MIS statements and reports pertaining to QA timely and accurately to meet the company and department requirements, policies and standards

10.Safety & Environment
Key Activities
- Ensure all relevant safety, and environmental policies procedures and controls are adhered to so that employee safety, legislative compliance
- Develop the site safety procedures in line with international standards as well as KORE requirements
- Ensures all manufacturing related areas adhere to health standards and regulations, report and analyze all diseases within the company identifying causes and actions to be undertaken

- Frequency of noncompliance with safety, quality and environmental policies and procedures
- Frequency of Lost Time Incidents and near misses
11.Other Relevant QA activities
Key Activities
- Apply and ensure adherence to all approved operational techniques, activities, work instruction and inspection plans in order to avoid any faulty, defective or unfit products
- Assemble cost control and statistical data, as needed, in order to support in quality objectives
- Study/ analyze customer complaints and nonconformities (if the corresponding corrective and/ preventive action
- Monitor the storage and handling conditions of both raw materials and finished products in order to ensure conditions are regulated
- Follow-up and report any observations of un-hygienic standards in the plant in order to ensure a sanitary work environment
- Ensure proper inspection for in-process and finished goods, and segregate nonconforming products in order to ensure that all products produced are of the required standards
- Ensure the adherence to specifications of both raw materials and finished products in order to ensure all manufactured products are safe, reliable and of high quality
- Implement instructions of hygienic regulations and pest control in order to maintain a healthy environment
- Coordinate with certification body and company departments for successfully conducting external audits
- Ensure the issuing of technical documentation and QA Certifications for customers, aimed at certifying the company’s products’ reliability, safety and guarantee
- Plan and lead / coordinate quality related projects in order to facilitate the smooth running of QA related projects

12.Communication Strategy
Key Activities
- Contribute to the establishment and implementation of necessary communication strategies for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across all departments
- Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, outside vendors or contractors in order to ensure transparency and awareness
- Contribute to the arrangement of Quality/Food Safety management System Trainings in cooperation with the HR in order to ensure the relevant employees are kept abreast and up-to-date on latest QA trends in FMCG Manufacturing

13.Housekeeping
Key Activities
- Manage Housekeeping function within Factory to ensure all GHK, GMP, 5S standards are met and site hygiene and cleanness is up to international standard

Qualification, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor Degree, Postgraduate and/or MBA desirable
- Minimum 8 – 10 years of relevant experience Preferably in a Technical role working with formulated juice products desirable but liquid processing knowledge essential
- Experienced HACCP team leader ( formal qualification would be an advantage)
- Exposure to World Class Manufacturing and Continuous improvement and 5 S initiatives
- Formal IOSH or Similar Health and Safety training would be an advantage
