MSELECT is looking to hire a Senior Supply Chain Specialist for an international oil and gas operator in Erbil, the candidate must have 7-8 years of Upstream Oil and Gas experience and must be fluent in English and Kurdish.


Job objective:

Responsible for qualifying vendors, sourcing materials, negotiating terms and procuring goods and services.


Job responsibilities:

  • Support the Supply and Logistics operation, covering materials planning, inventory control, rate setting, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution Involved with procurement, customer service, and production/merchandise planning to focus on continuous improvement of products and processes according to customer needs
  • Assist Supply Chain manager with minimizing total supply chain cost, maximizing supply chain effectiveness including conforming to established quality standards, and establishes an inventory flow that is responsive to the needs of the business
  • Negotiate, source and purchase materials from suppliers for production, and evaluate vendor quotes and materials to qualify best available suppliers that will meet company quality requirements
  • Process analysis, identifying and recommending improvement opportunities and creation of proposals for executive management review and approval
  • Select and manage suppliers and purchases to ensure best prices and contract terms, timely delivery, and a high level of quality for all parts and supplies. (Items to be purchased include components for electro-mechanical equipment and general office supplies)
  • Manage the inventory of parts and supplies and place orders so that items are available when needed, without carrying excessive inventory levels
  • Keep team informed of promotions, cost advantages, product availability, market trends, vendor and item changes, and related information and anticipate and advise management of potential supply chain problems which may have significant impact on business
  • Develop and implement procedures to seek out suppliers that have the best value of the company
  • Perform financial analysis to evaluate make/buy alternatives and lease/buy options and participate in value engineering efforts
  • Serve as a liaison between company personnel and supplier representatives
  • Work with internal departments to develop purchasing policies and practices which promote cost minimization and timely availability and ensure compliance
  • Utilize system to generate and record purchase orders, receive goods and match to invoices, ensuring accuracy in all steps

 

Job requirements:

  • BA/BS college degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred
  • Minimum of 7-8 years of Upstream Oil and Gas experience with working knowledge in areas of Wells (Drilling & Completions), Projects (Facilities, Engineering & Construction), Production Operations and Sub-Surface
  • At least 5 years purchasing experience with emphasis on oil and gas industry
  • Technical knowledge of oil and gas equipment, oil field services, construction and installation works are preferred
  • Knowledge of software: Great Plains software experience preferred, but other accounting software will be considered and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required
  • Language skills: Advanced in English and Kurdish

  • Ability to act independently as well as well working as a part of the distributed team (interactions with colleagues, managing contractor’s staff, etc.)
  • Good communication skills, stress resistance and organizational skills
