Job Description

MSELECT is looking for a Board Operator on behalf of a major global Oil and Gas client in Basra to be responsible for the management of the production process and controlling the process variables for water production facility by a HMI in control room, minimum 5 years of experience in in water treatment process including operation in HMI and field the position is on fixed rotation the candidate must be fluent in Arabic and English.

 

 

Job summary

The person who Operate PLC, electrical/instrumentation and responsible for the management of the production process and controlling the process variables for water production facility by a HMI in control room

 

Key responsibilities

  • Start up, operate, monitor and shutdown all production and utility equipment for the production facility
  • Monitor, maintain and optimize the process within operating parameters via the control room by adjusting chemicals additives, chemical analysis, flowrates, pressures, levels, sand concentrations, motors speeds, pumps, charts, Alarms, …. etc.
  • Controlling of water specifications required from feed inlet to final production.
  • Ensure optimum operations conditions depending of plant design.
  • Respond to abnormal operation with faults equipment to adjust parameters and restored to normal operation conditions.
  • Maintain daily logs for all activities, production data and reading like water samples analyses, operations conditions and all events.
  • Record daily report to water operation advisor.
  • Respond to critical situation and emergencies.
  • Determines proper times to Sand Top Up Systems, Auto backwash filters and air blowers.
  • Trains new personnel using knowledge and experience to enable less experienced employees to obtain the proper expertise necessary in the water treatment field.
  • Makes independent decisions concerning plant operations using knowledge and experience
  • Determines proper feed rates and dosages of the chemicals used in the treatment process by performing laboratory analyses on raw and treated water where keeping the optimum dosage depending of jar teste of alum, polymer, Microsand and chlorine.
  • Maintain precise communication with field operators and maintenance personnel at all times.
  • Coordinate activities with operation advisor, maintenance advisor and shift supervisor of the local team.
  • Coordinate and communicate with contractor’s team in the field
  • Ensure safe operation for H2SO4, HCl, NaOCl, Alum and Polymer environment and HSE policies are maintained.
  • Administering the permit to work system.
  • Qualifications, and Certifications including Water treatment certification.

 

Job requirement
Education

  • B.Sc. degree in chemical Engineering
  • No less than 5 years’ experience in water treatment process including operation in HMI and field.
  • Must be able to speak and read English in order to review technical manuals and P&ID drawings.
  • Skill in the use of Windows based personal computers and MS Office skills.
  • Worked on PLC system
  • Commissioning and operation for water treatment plants.
  • Hand-on skills of process optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Hand-on skills of process optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Record the operation conditions and water testing readings
  • Experience in water treatment operation scope.
  • Process calculations.
  • Reading P&ID, s
  • Broad knowledge of water treatment facility operations
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare written and verbal reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Skills in planning and problem solving.
  • Ability to read drawings and/or technical manuals
  • Ability to make complex operating decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Willingness to work on shift/rotation schedule.
  • Has valid driver’s license
