Job Description

MSELECT is looking to hire an Invoice Check Officer for an international development organization in Erbil. Candidate must have minimum 5 years’ experience in a comparable position and must be fluent in English, Kurdish and Arabic.

Reports to:
Head of Administration & Finance

The Invoice Check Officer performs the following tasks:
Invoice check
  • Financial Monitoring of All Financial agreement contracts
  • Financial Monitoring of all contracts and procurement processes
  • Verification of all income invoices and settlements (local & International trips) processed via organization country office
  • Responsible for the filing of cosoft and prosoft contracts in accordance with organization rules
  • Monitoring of real accounts accounts (payables and receivables)
Other duties/additional tasks The Invoice Check Officer
  • Reports all problems with financial administration and compliance without delay
  • Is responsible for filing in accordance with organization rules
  • Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management
Required qualifications, competences and experience Qualifications
  • University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar area of study.
  • Relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
  • GIZ internal Contract & procurement, salary, accounting high professional knowledge
Professional experience
  • At least 5 years’ professional experience in a comparable position
  • Internal organization knowledge in admin and finance is a big asset
Other knowledge, additional competences
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting software
  • Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • Confidential handling of data and information
  • Very good knowledge of the European language widely used in the country, ideally a knowledge of German
  • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
