mselect is looking to hire a Business Development Director for a manufacturing client in Baghdad, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in business development, with a proven track record of success in establishing and leading new business ventures. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must, Turkish is a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for market research and feasibility studies for new market and products, Teaming up with the operations director for a period of 6 months-1 year
  • Will take part in the establishment of all necessary relationships with the business authorities
For new businesses:
  • Responsible of market research, feasibility study for the areas that company wish to enter
  • Responsible of team building in new business areas (markets and products) according to company targets
  • Responsible of integration process of the new businesses to existing organization (After establishing the new businesses)
  • Responsible of relationship management with government authorities and related parties
For existing businesses:
  • Reporting and analyzing the KPIs determined in accordance with the Company's strategies and targets at certain intervals and carrying out improvement studies with business units

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in business development, with a proven track record of success in establishing and leading new business ventures.
Industry Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of the agribusiness sector, with a deep understanding of business development in the food industry.
Leadership Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams incl. remote teams
  • Proven experience in building and managing teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Communication and Relationship Building:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Analytical Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
Adaptability:
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing business environment and lead diverse teams through ambiguity
Other:
  • Analytical and systematic thinking, strong follow-up and process monitoring skills
  • High planning, organization and coordination competence
