Chief Financial Officer

mselect is hiring a Chief Financial Officer for a holding group client in Erbil. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Fluency in Arabic, English and Kurdish is a must.

Position Overview
The CFO will play a pivotal role in driving our financial strategy, managing financial performance, and ensuring compliance with financial and legal obligations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, strategic, and leadership skills, along with a deep understanding of financial operations, risk management, and performance measurement. The CFO will collaborate closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior executives to guide the company's financial decision-making and contribute to its overall success.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Performance Analysis and Reporting:
  • Coordinate, analyse, and present accurate and timely financial performance reports to the Management and Board of Directors
  • Develop both short-term and long-term financial forecasts to aid internal management and external stakeholders in decision-making
  • Provide insights into financial projections and participate in special projects as needed
Budgeting and Financial Strategy:
  • Lead the development and management of the group's annual operating budget, ensuring alignment with financial targets and organizational goals
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to formulate and execute financial strategies that support the company's growth objectives
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to managers and staff to assist them in achieving their departmental and corporate objectives
Audit and Compliance Oversight:
  • Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinating activities with external audit firms and monitoring their performance
  • Ensure compliance with financial and legal obligations, implementing necessary actions to mitigate risks and uphold financial integrity
Currency Change Management and International Operations:
  • Manage currency exchange risk by implementing effective strategies and tactics to minimize potential financial impact
  • Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations, ensuring consistency in financial reporting and compliance
Bank Relations:
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions and banks, negotiating favourable terms and optimizing banking services for the organization
Financial Planning and Risk Management:
  • Drive the development of comprehensive financial plans that align with the company's strategic direction
  • Analyse the organization's liabilities, investments, and financial exposures to develop effective risk management strategies
Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Build credibility for the finance group by providing accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and trends
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior executives to assist in their decision-making process
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role
  • Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial operations, forecasting, and strategic planning
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends
  • Knowledge of international financial regulations and practices, including currency exchange management
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors and financial institutions
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record of driving financial performance and supporting organizational growth
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and commitment to upholding financial compliance and best practices
  • Arabic or Kurdish and English is a must
