mselect is looking to hire a Communication Coordinator for an international energy client in Basra, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate all internal and external communication activities and initiatives for the Hub
  • Prepare and implement the annual internal and external communications strategy for the Company
  • Implementation of the Communication plan and preparation of internal and external reports
  • Ensuring logistics are in place for communication programs, events and initiatives for both internal and external parties
  • Ensure that all communications activities and initiative are in line with HQ guidelines and standards
  • Prepare press releases, articles, information packs and other communications material aimed at promoting goodwill amongst stakeholders
  • Coordinate and supervise the implementation of annual initiatives, plans and internal events on time and within the budget allocations
  • Facilitate the relationship management of the creative agency, media houses, audio-visual contractor, media monitoring firm and other service providers
  • Support implementation of crisis communications functions for internal and external communication
  • Design and implement engagement strategies and opportunities in line with company strategic objectives
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual communications budget for the Company
  • Support departments by promoting their activities and initiatives
  • Ensure compliance to company communications guidelines during internal general and departmental events
  • Act as the custodian for the Company brand and ensure company standards are respected for all branded materials
  • Facilitate Company internal and external events as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in communication, public relations/journalism, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in communications
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic and targeted communications within a large and complex organization
  • Good understanding of digital media, branding and use of communication tools
  • Supervisory skills and ability to work in a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of success in the areas of corporate planning
  • High level of innovation and well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of English and Arabic language (speaking and writing)
