mselect is looking for a Correspondence Advisor for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have at least 5 years of proven work experience as a Translator, Interpreter or similar role. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job purpose
The role is mainly responsible on translating the official correspondence letter, interprets written material from / to English, ensures meaning and context.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Translation:
  • Produce high quality and timely translation of material from English to Arabic, average of 1800 word per day
  • Provide proof reading when required to do so and quality assurance of translated work and correspondence letters
  • Initiate and lead improvement projects of correspondence and process and quality improvement of translated material
Glossary:
  • Act as the focal point of the glossary, ensure that the glossary is updated on a biweekly basis and continue to update Glossary by uploading new words
Correspondence:
  • Assign incoming letters to relevant departments and proposed DOs
  • Assign Outgoings and reflect on the Correspondence Tool SP system
  • Available for Joint Management Committee meeting to support translation and administration requirement

Criteria & Qualifications:
  • Degree in in English (language, Arts, Translation)
  • 5+ years of proven work experience as a Translator, Interpreter or similar role
  • Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors - advanced typing skills in particular & Good knowledge of content editing tools
  • MS Office skills are required
  • Excellent communication, administration and Time-Management skills.
  • Good English writing, speaking, reading and communications skills
