mselect is looking to hire an HSE Operations Support for an international energy client in Basra, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide operational safety and occupational health expertise and advice to Site Field Operations team
  • Responsible for providing support to site-based Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) professionals and working with them on common objectives
  • Assist with ensuring that the management system relating to safety and health is fully implemented on site
  • Assistance with preparation of site HSE Dossier
  • Assist with providing the required support to the two Site Field Operations team during implementation and roll out of HSE plans and procedures
  • Full awareness of Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) dossiers for simultaneous operations between Operations and Construction/Operations and Drilling, Seismic and Operations: assist in preparation to Site Field Operations team
  • Assist the Site Field Operations team with effective control of occupational health issues on Central Processing Facility 1 (CPF1) (e.g., accommodation hygiene, potable water management, handling of chemicals/ Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), ergonomics, H2S, health surveillance, management of hazardous substances e.g., mercury, benzene, etc.)
  • Assist with maintaining the required HSE competencies across the Site Field Operations team: support HSE Superintendent with organization training of the personnel on site
  • Participate in the preparation of material to enhance awareness on identified areas for improvement
  • Assist the HSE team in developing leading indicators and monitor them periodically
  • Support site team with organization of safety on CPF1 and remoted well pads
  • Contribute to the analysis of HSE performance to identify areas for improvement to prevent accidents
  • Assist in the deployment of HSE procedures, accident investigation, training
  • Coordinate HSE activities between the leadership teams and the site personnel

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Mechanical, Process Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in oil and gas industry
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation that is sufficient to offer good advice without reference
  • Ability to develop knowledge of company and group health and safety standards and procedures
  • Ability to communicate and network in a complex and multicultural organization
  • Highly committed with ability to take initiative
  • Good knowledge of English language (speaking and writing)
