Job purpose
IT Technical project lead (TPL): The Technical Project Leads (TPL) coordinates all technical and execution activities in Iraq on behalf of the project managers working directly with local and global IT service providers and local Site Assurance Managers’ assists in gathering and assessing requirements, functional and non-functional, providing this information back to architects and PM using Visio, Word, and Excel. Coordinates with relevant stakeholders or perform technical site surveys as required to have better understanding on existing infrastructure that will eventually provide a better design input for new project.
Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering and assessing requirements, both functional and non? functional. Providing this information back to architects and PM using Visio, Word, and Excel
- Significant amount of equipment will arrive in Oil field for purposes of implementing new infrastructure
- The successful candidate will provide extensive support to PMs in the IT Asset Management and Allocation process, to ensure all equipment is accounted for and properly allocated to projects
- Ensures that the solutions as implemented are fully in line with the agreed/ approved designs
- Ensures the project testing plan covers testing of critical components of the solution as well as relevant non-functional requirement
Requirements
Qualification & Training requirements
- BSc. Degree in Engineering, computer, communication, electrical
- PMI certification preferred
- Have excellent understanding and knowledge of telecommunications equipment and technologies used within shell
- Verify all RFQ have sufficient detail, equipment specifications, estimated man hours, estimated equipment delivery times, method statement
- Liaise with Telecom Design Office. They should approve/ disapprove final versions
- HSE mind-set for self and suppliers and contractors working on IT projects in Company
- Be able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Team and collaborative approach
- Experience working with IT Telecom contractors
- 3 to 5 years of relevant job experience within the oil & gas industry
- Good understanding of and demonstrable hands-on experience in all functional aspects of IT-Telecom including networking, security, and maintenance SLA management
- MS Office
- English – upper intermediate (verbal & written)
