mselect is looking to hire a Joint Venture Coordinator for an international energy client in Basra, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure the role of Senior Joint Venture coordinator for one or more assets of GGIP
  • Ensure the role of Joint Venture (JV) focal entry/exit point for communication with partners and Iraqi authority
  • Represent the company in relevant JV committees and has a Delegation of Authority
  • Ensure good knowledge of the JV agreements and contracts by all the relevant personnel in the affiliate and strict adherence to the contractual provisions
  • Organize the timely delivery of all technical and financial reports to partners and authorities
  • Ensure that all parties in the JV comply with the JV agreements
  • Ensure that the company exercises its rights and obligations as per the Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) with partners and the patrimonial Contracts with the State
  • Prepare/organize relevant JV committees (sub committees and decision committees)
  • Prepare the recommendations for and the decisions to be made by the JV committees (with partners and with Authorities), particularly the ones related to approval of the work programs and budgets or the Annual Gas Plan, which will require prior internal approvals through company’s decision-making processes
  • For WIP and Solar, monitor decisions taken by the specific related Committees (WIP Technical Advisory Committee and Solar Joint Coordination Committee)
  • Ensure the full implementation of the decisions made by the JV committees
  • Validate cash calls, and AFEs (authorizations for expenditures) if relevant, before they are sent to the partners, as well as the follow-up of the cash call payments by such partners

REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Business or engineering
  • Minimum 10 years’ industry experience and strong business sense
  • Good knowledge of technical and business processes and methods
  • Ability in developing good relationships within the internal departments, Projects teams, partners and authorities
  • Ability to understand complex technical material
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, listen, convince, coordinate, and facilitate, proactive behaviour
  • Excellent knowledge of English language (speaking and writing)
