mselect is looking to hire a Junior Fluids Supervisor for an international energy client in Basra, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead by example with safety attitude and behaviour reflecting the company HSE culture at rig site
  • Strictly implementing the HSE rules at rig and in charge of observing the performances of Fluids, Cement and Waste Management (FCWM) contractors’ personnel at rig site, ensuring their commitment to run the operation with zero accidents nor leaks to the environment
  • Ensure the full implementation of waste management system at rig site (pit-less location, mud recycling, minimizing the use of drill water) as per program, reporting any anomalies
  • Supervise all FCWM operations at Rig-site and ensure all operations are carried out safely and as per the Company drilling program
HSE:
  • Ensure the fluids operations (especially in terms of waste management to be run in a “zero discharge” context) are in line with the Company drilling program, referential, in respect of the local Legislations and Regulations
  • Report and analyse any related incident
  • Ensure proper traceability reporting is carried out on daily basis for all waste management operations
  • Ensure safe storage for all chemicals at rig site with dedicated secured area for hazard chemicals (e.g., caustic soda, flammable chemicals, etc.) and that Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available at all times
  • Optimize the operations and logistics synergies to reduce the CO2 emission
Co-ordination:
  • Liaise with the Company Fluids Superintendent in daily basis to ensure the understanding and full implementation of drilling and drilling fluids & cement programs’ requirements, planning logistics and resources accordingly
  • Raise a Management of Change (MOC) for any potential requirement to change any step of operations
  • Ensure FCWM contractors’ preparation and equipment readiness
  • Anticipate / forecast equipment / personnel / consumable needs for each section / well, and ensure their mobilization in due time to prevent having Non-Producing Time (NPT)
Operation & Supervision:
  • Ensure all FCWM equipment onboard the rig are fully certificated and maintained, anticipating any upcoming requirements for certification / maintenance programs
  • Ensure the FCWM operations are carried out in full respect of the Company drilling program and in case of unplanned event, propose an alternative change or solution to reduce risk in concertation with Fluids Superintendent, raising a MOC with hierarchy for approval
  • Prepare the daily reports, end of phases debriefing, and end of well reports
  • Recap and report all the lessons learned and/or ensure their implementation to new section/ well

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • General knowledge of drilling operations
  • Minimum experience having worked as a trainee or intern or participated in Oil & Gas Industry related training
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to details
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent in English both oral and written
