mselect is looking for a Materials Receiving Supervisor for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have at least 3 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job purpose
This position shall be responsible to supervise Company’s Project/Asset Materials Warehouses and Yards within Majnoon oilfield in Basrah, Iraq. In particular, this position is to help the business stakeholders with receiving of materials and maintain the minimum stock levels for the critical materials. Also maintaining Inventory accuracy during receiving, issuing and returning activities ensuring conformity with the applicable documentations in compliance with the Company’s standards & policies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Oversee and supervises the daily materials receiving and storage operations in the entire warehouse and yards
  • Plans and prepare the receiving activities and procedures for the safe, efficient handling of all incoming consignments at the receiving area in the Warehouse and in the yard area
  • Ensures that all activities pertaining to verification of consignment-documents, physical receiving/ handling/ unloading, inspection, acceptance/GR procedure etc. are carried out per agreed standards
  • Ensures safe operation of equipment used to move and transport the materials to and from the storage areas of the facility. Also, monitor and controls the movement of trucks and vehicles delivering loads of consignments
  • Ensure matching of materials description, part numbers and quantity as per purchase orders while receiving of materials
  • Responsible for visual inspection of materials and ensure any abnormalities (e.g. corrosive, dent, damage) are properly documented for further course of action
  • Preparation and checking of shipping documents including dangerous goods declarations to ensure safe handling accordingly
  • Controls receiving and issuing of materials from authorized sources against valid Purchase order, Contract, work order etc. Ensures all relevant invoices/ packing list/ delivery notes/ proof of Clearances from Statutory authorities like Port/Customs authority are in place
  • Periodic reporting on activities pertaining to the area of responsibility
  • Train and mentor local staff (including sub-contract employees) to ensure warehouse operations are handled as per required standards
  • Responsible for traceability of materials after receiving put away in the appropriate bin locations
  • Coordinates preparation of physical stock check records each month, reviews and investigates discrepancies, reports findings to a Warehouse Superintend
  • Carry out related duties such as data collection for statistical reports and assist in general warehouse and Materials control activities
  • Performs other assigned duties as business requires

Minimum requirements:
  • Graduation in Engineering, Business Admin or equivalent
  • Ability to build strong working relationship with the business stakeholders and within the team members
  • Pro-active nature and willing to learn quick and take new challenges
  • Self-motivated with ability to motivate the team
  • Experience in the use of computer-based & inventory control systems
  • SAP MM experience is Mandatory and WMS experience is preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 - 4 years’ experience in Oil & Gas Materials Management and warehousing
  • Experience of handling warehouse and yard related operations particularly experienced in the materials receiving and issuing related activities
  • Experienced and knowledge of inventory control system
  • Shall have overall knowledge with all discipline material/equipment such as Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and civil
Language proficiency, computer and software skills:
  • Fluent in English Reading, Writing & Speaking
  • Well versed in MS office, PowerPoint, outlook
  • Working knowledge of SAP MM ERP & WMS
  • Working knowledge of preparing reports
Skills:
  • Skilled to lead the team
  • Well versed with MS office applications
  • Good in a Communication and presentation skills
  • Good in analytical skills
  • Knowledge of the specific’s Materials management activities
Work Environment:
  • 70% of the time is spent in the yard area; exposed to prevailing weather conditions of heat and humidity
  • 30% time is spent in Warehouse office for documentation, confirmation of transactions and planning job related activities and correspondences
Rotation: 14 Days On/ 14 Days Off
