mselect is looking for a Regional Logistics Supervisor for an industrial and distribution group in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, 3 years of experience in a supervisor level with a proven track record. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

JOB PURPOSE
Oversee and manage all logistics operations to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate handling, storage, and distribution of products. This includes maintaining optimal stock levels in commercial warehouses and enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of logistical processes.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Finished Goods Warehouse:
  • Directly guide Warehouse Teams to optimize asset utilization, focusing on efficient layout, load planning, and process execution
  • Ensure Warehouse Assets comply with local regulatory standards and insurance requirements
  • Manage and optimize Forklift Trucks (FLT)
  • Effectively oversee inventory to prevent losses due to expiration, breakages, unaccounted items, or out of stocks within your area of influence
Logistics:
  • Plan, forecast, and report on logistics, costs, and business performance according to company requirements
  • Liaise & coordinate with other Logistics operations in different locations to ensure best practice applied and ensure smooth communication between team and others
  • Ensure logistics achieve and adhere to Service Level Agreement to sustain cost-effectiveness and quality
Projects:
  • Manage business logistics projects
Budget:
  • Prepare annual budgets for the warehouse and logistics team
  • Follow up budgets through the year
  • Monitor the financial performance of logistic operations’ activities versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly
  • Identify potential performance improvement opportunities
  • Design and recommend the capital investment plans and alternatives for the warehouse infrastructure
Supervision of Subordinates:
  • Organize and supervise the activities and work of the respective teams to ensure that all work within the specific area of logistics operations is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy
  • Safety, Quality & Environment:
  • Ensure all relevant safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and controls are adhered to so that employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude can be guaranteed
Human Resources:
  • Manage the human resourcing requirements of the department
  • Manage the recruitment of the correct staff for the roles in collaboration with our HR Department
  • Manage the execution of the corporate HR procedures & Policies
  • Conduct Performance Management of direct reports
  • Be a coach and mentor for direct reports
  • Build a strong H&S culture within the Warehouse and Logistics department
Staff Training:
  • Define the training needs for the staff (especially the needs related to training of staff on operational procedures
  • Manage the development of the training materials
  • Manage the delivery of the training to staff
  • Ensure that SOPs are understood and executed accordingly

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Travel between Erbil and Sulaymaniyah warehouses and ad-hoc visits to Baghdad

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Relevant BCom degree or 3-year relevant equivalent.
  • Excellent English skills (Arabic is an added advantage).
  • Ability to manage numerous tasks.
  • Advanced excel knowledge
  • Good people management skills
  • Ability to present logistics performance and supported data in a comprehensive way to top manage
Knowledge:
  • Expertise in warehouse processes and their interconnections
  • In-depth understanding of Settlement, Proof of Delivery, and Stock Management
  • Insight into warehouse performance metrics and influences
  • Knowledge of effective Asset Care
  • Proficiency in systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of warehouse and distribution KPIs
  • Familiarity with HR and IR policies
Skills:
  • Proficient in managing employee relations and fostering a positive IR environment
  • Skilled in coaching and team development
  • Initiative within process guidelines and decisive problem-solving
  • Competent in technology use
  • Ability to maintain operational standards

Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in logistics
  • 3-5 years of experience in a supervisor level with a proven track record
  • Experience is stock management and logistics
  • Experience in working with ERP systems
