mselect is looking to hire a Safety Engineer Technological Risks and Integrity for an international energy client in Basra, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide effective technical support and troubleshooting capability to the overall GGIP scope for process and operating integrity during normal production, operations safety issues during equipment/systems maintenance
  • Manage technical interfaces with project teams to ensure safety design harmonized and follows corporate standards
  • Support to ensure all safety studies and design activities completed in according to company requirements, schedule, and cost
  • Initiate, lead or participate to Risk Assessment activities related to DGS (downgraded situations) or MOC (management of change) activities
  • Initiate, lead or participate to HAZOP (Hazards and Operability), reviews related to the RFM (request for modifications)
  • Ensure that Safety and Environment Critical Elements (SECE) of the overall GGIP scope are accurately identified and managed within each sub project by all packages managers teams and maintenance teams according to corporate requirements
  • Monitor fit for purpose status of SECE and quick resolution of downgraded situations
  • Verify that any project modifications designed as per industrial standards and meet Process Safety Basic requirements
  • Facilitate technical HSE discussions/ reviews, project change management / deviations meetings ensuring resolution of issues to As Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) levels
  • Assist in maximizing production up time, improving reliability and effective safety control measures for production operations in line with meeting corporate targets and standards during the life cycle of the project
  • Provide input to start up planning to ensure process safety is maintained
  • Perform Hazard consequence assessment and quantified risk assessment using the proper simulation tools and databases: PHAST (Physical Hazards Assessment tools), OREDA (Offshore Reliability Data base), EXIDA, IOGP (International Oil and Gas Producers), parts count tools
  • Contribute to Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) coordination during start up and commissioning phases of the project
  • Contribute to incidents analysis and return of experience
  • Regularly conduct site audits and safety rounds
  • Provide written reports of risk assessment, safety studies and recommendation reports as required

REQUIREMENTS
  • Masters in Process Engineering or Bachelor’s degree process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or any other relevant discipline
  • Minimum 5 years Professional experience within Process Safety and Technical Integrity discipline
  • Good knowledge in application of Risk Assessment methods
  • Good teamwork, strongly focused, good analytical and communication skills
  • Must be fluent in English
