Warehouse Supervisor

mselect is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor for a manufacturing client in Baghdad, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job purpose
  • To oversee the material’s warehouses within the factory including management and recording of incoming / outgoing stock of WMS, CRT, ensuring the best practices in relation to storage (Optimization, FIFO, FEFO, reporting discrepancies…), transportation and shelf life are implemented and adhered to
  • The role also manages the logistics flow of delivering materials to the SMD on time in full, and receiving finished product from the manufacturing department to be stored in their proper warehouses, Handling their dispatches to the Local & Export markets from Documentation, Tax department and Logistical point of view
  • The jobholder is also responsible for stock counting during the month, goods receipt and delivery both physically and on SAP making sure all movements are updated on time to support production and planning. Supervise / coordinate material handlers and forklift driver’s tasks to optimize workflow and render it more efficient.  In addition to that the Stores Supervisor is responsible for good housekeeping and cleanliness within the areas under his responsibility
  • He also must closely coordinate and follow up with 3PL to cater for factory requirements OTIF

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Warehousing:
  • Ensure that all WMs, CRT and Finished Goods are received according to the defined Goods Receipt Procedure
  • Ensure that all WMs, CRT stocks are managed according to FIFO principal
  • Ensure all transactions and storage according to FIFO principles
  • Ensure EH&S rules are applied across the stores areas
  • Ensure follow up with the supply chain regarding defective and wrong products received
  • Perform stock takes as required by the business and publish stock reports to the relevant people for entry into the prescribed accounting system
  • Ensure communication of breakdown of stores equipment to the authorized person or department
  • Ensure shelf life and materials is tracked and reported
  • Ensure that related departments manage the preventative measures for infestation
  • Carry out stock taking as required by accounting department
  • Manage the Goods receipt
Logistics:
  • Ensure delivery of WMs and CRT to the SMD to meet production plan requirements
  • Provide relevant reports related to materials and finished goods stock
  • Clean up and dispose of any waste, dust and hazardous material in an appropriate manner
  • Ensure that cleaning procedures are strictly followed

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Technical or commerce high school education
  • 4-5 years’ experience
  • Forklift driver’s licence (not essential)
  • Team-work oriented and good communicator
  • Experience of any ERP package
  • Good understanding of English
  • Good computer skills and inventory management system         
Key success factors:
  • Consistency between nominated ERP/Accounting system and stocks
  • FIFO controls
  • Information that comes from other departments
  • Minimum time for loading and unloading a vehicle
  • Minimum defective product stock due to storage, loading, unloading, and shipping
  • No stock run-out due to procedural errors
  • No lost stock items
  • Successful reconciliation during stock taking
  • Analysis of total inventory and reporting
