MSELECT is looking to hire a Facility Construction Supervisor for an international oil and gas operator in Duhok. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. Fluency in English and Kurdish is a must.


JOB OBJECTIVE

  • Supervise construction and coordinate work at site to maximize the effectiveness of construction delivery to time, budget and quality objectives
  • Monitor and review construction documentation to support timely construction installation and completion
  • Monitor progress and review construction installation and completions by the EPC Contractor at site
  • Enhance and demonstrate commitment to raising HSE standards and proposing new initiatives or improvements. Review project studies and proposals for construct ability and/or construction hazard identification. Monitor and review construction related documentation originated by the EPC Contractor
  • Provide technical assistance to the construction supervision team. Assist in the resolution of field construction queries interfacing with engineering and completions
  • Assist in the review and approval of contractor’s method statements. Review “as built “drawings
  • Participate in meetings as required


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all piping, mechanical and structural scope is fully installed, mechanically complete and ready to hand over for commissioning activities
  • Carries out on behalf of the customer construction control over the implementation of construction and installation works and acceptance of completed objects from contracting construction organizations
  • Participate in piping/mechanical construction activities for all work scopes
  • Ensure compliance with International Standards and Company Standards
  • Perform daily inspection activities to support the construction of piping/mechanical facilities, plants, well pads, pipeline, and other construction works
  • Responsible for monitoring the performance of the contractors, including but not limited to monitor the Man Hours provided by the contractors, chair daily construction progress meetings with the contractors, ensure the work progress of the contractors is accordance to the planned schedule, scope of work, resources and budget, ensure all contractors follow both company procedures and statutory requirements, etc.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient, technically correct installation of piping and mechanical equipment
  • Responsible for the management of the Construction Project
  • Ability to work directly with contractors and company personnel
  • Must be able to review and implement drawings and specifications
  • Must be able to develop and implement QC plans, safety plans, and schedules
  • Coordinate findings with the work of engineering and personnel, clients, and others concerned with projects
  • Must be able to complete daily reports on work progress as well as conduct weekly meetings with the Project Manager and Contractors to update status on quality, safety, and the schedule
  • Responsible for ensuring exemplary standards of health and safety on site
  • Ensures consistent levels of quality on all aspects of the project
  • Studies and complies with company’s LND, implemented in the Entity, Entity’s LND, regulating the employee’s field of activities (within own competency), including those, requiring compliance with currency legislation
  • Immediately notifies his/her immediate superior on any situation, posing a threat to life and health of people
  • In required for business purposes – fulfils other assignments from the Manager (within own competency)
  • In the event of incidents – acts to preserve the working environment and equipment as they were at the time of the incident (if this does not pose a threat to life and health of employees and does not cause the aggravation of situation) and follows the labor and fire safety requirements
  • Observes the Internal Code of Conduct, established within Entity
  • Ensures preservation of commercial and business secrets and other confidential information about Entity’s operations and its customers
  • Supporting all company employees and contractors in the implementation of Construction & Commissioning Plans and procedures and the monitoring of their performance on all related matters
  • Support Planning Team in developing statistical reports on Construction & Commissioning performance (KPI), with close monitoring and detailed review
  • Financial division for budget and other related matters
  • Membership in Incident Management Team


KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Work experience: Minimum 10 years oil & gas working experience in construction and hook-up & commissioning of new facilities and in turn-around projects
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Structural or Mechanical is required
  • Expertise/Skills: Experience in Mechanical, Structural and Oil and Gas construction projects
  • Foreign languages: English fluently
  • Computer/Software literacy: MS Office, Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
