mselect is looking to hire a Maintenance Supervisor for an international oil and gas operator in Kurdistan, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English is a must.

Job Summary
  • The Maintenance Supervisor is a skilled position responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall responsibility of all oil & gas equipment, as well as vehicles and our personnel camp.  This often also includes new projects and their design, fabrication, installation and commissioning
  • Proper planning, scheduling, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and inspection of all work performed is essential to ensure the best and safest technology is used to accomplish this goal
  • Other duties include reviewing inventory items to make sure that the yearly maintenance plan can be implemented, for example monitoring of min/max levels in warehouse to assure timely delivery of spare parts
  • This position is filled by two foreign staff working back-to-back for half the year on a four-week rotation based at our field operations site. Personnel supervised are Instrumentation Engineers, Mechanical Technicians, Electrical Technicians, Instrumentation Technicians, Diesel Mechanics, Maintenance Technicians, and Roustabouts

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervises the maintenance, instrumentation, construction, fabrication, and electrical work performed by the maintenance operations team
  • Assures all work in assigned area is performed in accordance with established procedures and orders in a safe, efficient, and economic manner
  • Supervises maintenance personnel determining and documenting capability and aptitude
  • Inspects pre-fabricated piping and structural assemblies in fabrication shop and on-site installation
  • Observes all work areas, all work procedures and all work performance to ensure that any safety equipment needed is available for use
  • Schedules and conducts monthly safety meetings to ascertain the existence of any safety problems and to introduce and explain any new safety procedures or equipment
  • Responsible for data collection, recording and analysis to ensure that all maintenance operations goals and schedules are met, to provide history of work accomplished and provide for the economical use of materials and supplies
  • Ensure that adequate spare parts are in the warehouse to prevent needless downtime

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge & Experience
  • Mechanical or electrical supervisory experience required
  • Petrochemical maintenance experience preferred
  • H2S experience preferred
  • International experience preferred

Skills & Abilities
  • Enthusiastic about operations role on a small team with limited resources
  • Ability to work effectively within team of operations and maintenance
  • Ability to work in multi-national workforce
  • Proven track record of training national staff while completing multiple tasks
