mselect is looking to hire a Public Affairs and Communications Manager for an international FMCG client in Baghdad. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must, Kurdish is a plus.

JOB OBJECTIVE
Public Affairs and Communications Manager is a position responsible manage company’s corporate affairs strategy and key issues as well as company reputation to protect and grow business across all markets, through effective public affairs, government relations and stakeholder engagement strategies and ensure all markets have the capability to effectively manage company reputation and key local issues within the defined strategy. Leads effective implementation of the company sustainability strategy and sustainability reporting process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create corporate affairs strategic business plans aligned with functional leaders and Country GMs and monitor the execution
  • Define key business issues across all markets and work with country leadership teams to identify required strategies and action plans
  • Build capability across all markets for effective implementation of corporate affairs strategic plans
  • Develop Corporate Affairs policies and standards across all markets
  • Represent the company in business interest groups and industry associations and advocate company positions
  • Acts as a point of expertise and source of information for all corporate affairs-related issues
  • Acts as a company spokesperson for all corporate affairs-related issues
  • Oversees the implementation of sustainability strategy, working with Executive Committee Members and function heads and ensures effective implementation of sustainability programs
  • Leads sustainability reporting process across the company

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Social Sciences. Preferred: Master’s Degree in Public Relations
  • Advanced level of English
  • Min. 5 years of experience as a Corporate Affairs Manager in a multinational organization
  • Aligns strategy and issue management into the business
  • Able to evaluate long-term implications of commercial/technical trends into the business
  • Able to develop new strategic approaches aligned with business objectives
  • Good Knowledge of the business environment
  • Content planning and development
  • Able to cultivate strategic relationships with stakeholders
  • Work experience in a multinational environment with multiple stakeholders including public authorities
