mselect is looking to hire a Wellwork Petroleum Engineer for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have at least 4 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Role Synopsis   
WW PE is responsible for monitoring ongoing operations with Wells department, progressing a prioritized list of rigless/Rig workover opportunities into the very active schedule. The role will involve keeping track of executed jobs and providing investigation and explanation for failures and some ownership of technology projects to support the production. The role will also look at longer term planning and will have some ownership of technology projects to support the enhanced redevelopment plans.

Key Accountabilities       
  • Undertake detailed analysis of recent jobs, including investigation into failure trends or repeated issues. Manage larger scope projects which may involve multiple jobs where required, in order to provide a report on the success or issues with a certain job type
  • Contribute to, review and correct rig and/or rigless SORs to ensure they can be executed
  • Follow daily progress of rigless activity and hold a daily call with the junior engineer is handling the ongoing operation to discuss through any issues
  • Ownership of several technology projects working with Wells to identify well candidates to improve efficiencies and success of water shut-off and other jobs
  • Follow up with the Base Management teams for operations outcome and next plan for all operations
  • Review and sign well services and workover programs

Essential Education        
  • Petroleum Engineering or similar Engineering degree

Essential Experience and job requirements           
  • At least four years’ proven experience in Well intervention (rig workovers, coiled tubing sequeezes, stimulation, eline etc), well inflow performance, production optimization, well completion practices
  • Ability to maintain high energy levels over a minimum 14 day rotation
  • Ability to remain clam and organized under pressure
  • Experience in working within a multicultural environment

Other essential skills and knowledge      
  • Experience on Production and Injection Well Management, Well & System Performance, Short term Production / Injection Optimisation and Well Interventions
  • Well Operations experience
